How to add pictures to my signature?

I have been trying to add a picture to my signature but it comes up as [img] [img] and i dont know what do do from there! help pls. 
You need to put the URL of the image between the [img] tags. If it's a picture on your computer, upload it to an image-hosting website first, such as http://imgur.com/
