I would also be interested in knowing how all these ideas came to Ryo.

Would you two stop argueing, please?? And Ogirl, don't swear, okies?

I own OoT for N64, but the others are for GC.

Describe Zelda? Well, it would depend on which game I was describing.

There's a reason why his age is at 2 years. Let me explain:
In Ocarina of Time, Dark Link was first created after the seven years that had passed, and since Ryo is Dark Link restored, that was Ryo's creation point. After the Goddesses had made him "Ryo", two years passed until his real story begins. Those two years are how long he's been around. In essence, he began life as an adult.

And this bio was for my character, not me personally, Oman. Just thought I'd let you know.

How'd I get the ideas? Well, as I said, it's a long story. Want me to explain how he was created?

A new Character? Well, I could... I have a lot of characters to descibe...

Then your character was created two years ago, but who made him?

Oh, no no no, you don't get what the bio is like. His history is decribing how he fits into the Zelda story. Morpha (the Water Temple Boss) made Dark Link, which the Triforce Goddesses reformed into Ryo. It's all part of the game's history. Ryo as my character is less than a year old.

And, quoting from the Forest Haven when I wrote this, here's how Ryo came to be:

"It all started with playing Ocarina of Time - my first Zelda game. The opening of the game with Link in bed, kinda sounding like he's shivering somehow sparked my insparation. Already, I was getting ideas for a character like him, but different in ways. What I came up with was a lost, abandoned boy with fire-breath, hightened speed, limited fire control, and full-envelopment of fire during a rage. Seemed good to me at the time. I gave him the nick-name "WildFire". His real name wasn't chosen yet. The only noticable difference was his tunic being red, not green.

After playing around with his intro and RPing a bit with him, I dropped the hightened speed from his abilities. It didn't really fit his character that well. But it was when I saw Volvagia, I thought of the Dragon of Inferno, and the adult version of Ryo. I linked the two characters together with a kind of prophesy and shape-shifting. It later that I dropped the shape-shifting and chose a Mask of Power to be the cause of change instead. The ideas were good; rough, but good. By this time I got him his official name. He was named after the Ronin Warrior with the armor of WildFire (which was Ryo's nick-name). He got his sword, "Sword of Inferno" but it wasn't how you see it today. It was a sword with no blade. The fire became the blade. He also had the Mirror-Shield.

More time passed, and I dropped the fire-control from his abilities as well. After all, dragons that breath fire (much like Ryo can) don't control the fire they shoot out. So what I did was maximize how much damage it can cause to make up for the inability to control it. Ryo was in the X-Men series this whole time, so I thought up an alternate outfit for him. No X-Men is in a tunic and tights, after all.

Even more time passed, and I met PrincessZelda here in The Forest Haven. I registered to her RPing forum and got Ryo registered, but it didn't quite compute. Link was already there in the Zelda RPs, so having Ryo would complicate things. That's when I got the idea of Ryo being Dark Link but restored to a normal person by the Triforce Goddesses. By this time, Ryo's hair changed from the normal golden blonde to a fire-blonde. His eyes got darker as well. Also by this time, the Sword of Inferno got a normal blade, but engulfed in flames, as it still is. The sword's design was still on the drawing board, though. Ryo began to become more of a Zelda character than an X-Men character, but he's still in the X-Men series with the saved changes.

Again, more time passed. Ryo's hair changed from fire-blonde to all white with yellow / orange shadowing. This gives the appearance of his hair being made of pure, intense flames. His eyes got darker still. He also began to show features of his own - His ears were longer, his torso got more muscular, his hands and feet got a bit bigger, his hair got longer, and sometimes he had a scar on his chest. His sword finally got its final design. The child version of Ryo got similar treatment. His hair became white and his eyes became dark. Surprisingly enough, he also has a scar on his chest. Not much else has changed about him. Ryo lost the full-fire-envelopment when he gets into a rage. Instead, only his hands and forearms go ablaze.

Just recently, more things have changed. Ryo sometimes doesn't have the Sword of Inferno, instead he has a new blade, "Heaven's Secret". It is a gold version of the Master Sword, with rubies, emeralds, sapphires, and diamonds encrusted in the hilt. The Royal Familys crest is engraved at the base where the hilt holds the blade. The blade is like a silver / platinum metal that is very reflective. Black roses are etched in the blade. He got a different Mirror-Shield, one that looks more like a holy shield. Ryo's gotten 2 more outfits even!

Is this the end of Ryo's evolution as a character? I doubt it. Though he sounds awesome now, there is a chance he'll become even greater in the future. Only time will tell."

I think Ocarina of Time was the most successful Zelda game. By the way, is Dark Link to Link what Bad Rayman is to Rayman?

Posted: Sun May 21, 2006 12:13 am
by Ryo
Well.... yes and no. Dark Link is Link's shadow. But he doesn't copy Link's moves as Bad Rayman did with Rayman. Instead, Dark Link used the player's moves against Link. He has the same attacks and the same blocking abilities. In fact, when Link targets him, he targets Link.

No one is sure of Dark Link's true origin, so I took that liberty of making that part up plus showing how Ryo could be in a Zelda game after OoT.

Oh hell, I didn't swear, I just gave my opinion... You're quite agressive, mate, calm down.

You just did it again.
And I was wanting the arguements to stop. This isn't about Oman's actual appearance, it's about my character bio. I was actually being quite calm.

Now, back to what I wrote, Ryo's also known as the Child of the Triforce because of the Triforce Goddesses being the ones to make him as he is. His more common title is "Rurouni of Fire", because "Rurouni" means "Wandering Swordsman" and he has fire powers.

Then Dark Link is more evolved than Bad Rayman, I guess. If I created my own character bio, I would develop it from Bad Rayman :)

Dark Link was like his own person, copying Link's own attacks. So, yes. He's a higher created being.

You know, there's a big loophole for what could have happened to Bad Rayman after Rayman had moved onto the next level. After all, he was never seen since...

You are totally right, he could for example appear in Rayman 4! But he is still a spell launched by Mr Dark, so I wonder if he would not disappear :|

by Ryo
Well, Mr. Dark didn't die, nor did Rayman. If the spell was to copy the hero and both the spellbinder and the hero live, wouldn't the spell as well?

You have a point, since Bad Rayman only dies when Rayman does... Uh, wait! I can hardly remember Bad Rayman dying when you reach the end of level panel... Was it a dream? :|

by Ryo
Oh? I don't recall... oh wait... yes I do... Hm... Well, maybe THAT Bad Rayman did, but since Mr. Dark escaped, could it be that he tried again with a more intellegent spell?

See, Hunchman? asking questions like these to get past those loopholes helped me make Ryo. ^_^ It's how my mind works!

Well, if he was able to summon Bad Rayman once, he could even improve his spell and make it better, yes.
I understand how you created this bio then, I also enjoy talking about things that could happen, even if it could seem pointless to some people.

So was link from Oot, why not Ryo? :P

Nice story, btw. :D

How old is link in OoT anyways?

I'd say around 10 for young link, and 17 (no more older than that) for adult link.

Young link looks more like an 8 year old to me. :?
