Hi! This is a topic about the turn-based Rayman RPG game I'm making, called "Rayman's Revenge." The following is from my topic on RZ...
Surely, those who were on the forums before July will remember this topic from the Fan Art area. This is a redone version of a topic found in the 2nd Page here in the Off Topic. However, it concerns Rayman's Revenge. Because of this, some paragraphs will be different, so I suggest you re-read them.
Well, with my laptop's old harddrive all but gone, I've started a new version of Rayman's Revenge. It is BIGGER and BETTER, with many of the Rayman 2 worlds being changed from secret levels to actual required ones. Here's a run down of the plot. Shortly after Rayman 3, Rayman realized that in Rayman 1, Mister Dark and Betilla got cooler parts than he did! Enraged, Rayman quickly gathered other unsatisfied people and went BAD. Rayman tricked Mister Dark into capturing Betilla the Fairy and sucking her power away. Then, Rayman sucked Mister Dark's power away, and turned him into a slave (this is slightly different from the old version, in which Rayman instead imprisoned Mister Dark). With his new powers, Rayman caused havoc. Band Land lost its instruments, Picture City became like a Colonial city, and the Candy Chateau switched candy out for snow. Things were messed up pretty bad. It is from here that the plot in the original version ended for a bit. The following, for a time being, is the new additions to the plot. Rayman called in Admiral Razorbeard, and the two (along with Mister Dark) kidnapped and brainwashed the Grand Minimus. This sent the world into turmoil, and strange things began to happen. The bosses from Rayman 1, 2, and 3 came back to life! Begoniax began gathering an army of her own! The entire Hall of Doors was close to war (it is here that the original version's plot picks up again). However, a young sorceress named Mary Ann was summoned by Lord Frisk, ruler of Looking Glass Land (the setting of Capturing Time). She was sent to save the Hall of Doors. On the way, she had a tussle with Lord Frisk's evil brother (this takes place in Dream Edition). In the end, however, she gained three friends. The four of them reached the Hall of Doors, and prepared to battle the forces of evil.
In the original version, the playable characters were Mary Ann, Basil, somebody, and somebody. However, I'm thinking of changing this as well. I'm hoping to obtain a good sized picture of the Cameraman from Rayman 1, Ly the Fairy, and some other good guys (not Globox--he sided with Rayman). That way, there could be some playable Rayman characters!
I'm also starting a new policy. As I'm also starting staff try outs, I decided to bring in a little bonus. Any completed games, if I distribute them under Fair Use, will not feature any music in them, as I NEVER use MIDI; I always use either OGG, MP3, WMA, or WAV. You might get the first copy, or you might get a little something special added in, if you are my best little helper!
Mind you, if Queen Acheval or any of the moderators find that the distribution is illegal, I may only be able to distribute the Rayman one. Please help me out! I don't have much to give, but I'd love any help that I can get. It isn't much, but all helpers get their names in the credits. That probably won't motivate you, but...
Anyway, here are the fields of help:
That would be me.
-
Imagers take an image and remove unwanted parts, such as uneven white background. Very helpful when trying to get enemies or characters. A good example of a past Imager would be Ryan.
-
Scouts help me find images. Normally, I do all the searching, but if I can't find something, I may ask a scout to help out.
-
Artists assist by either drawing, coloring, designing, etc. things I'd need for one of my games. I can sort of do the drawing now, but only very limited--just because I can draw doesn't mean I can draw ANYTHING. A great example of an artist would be Bar, who was the one who made all these banners for the staff.
-
Heh, this was my favorite of the banners. A Coder must know RUBY SYNTAC code, which is pretty difficult. I normally don't need a Coder, but any that I have usually would be an excellent help--I don't bother with RUBY unless I have the assistance.
-
This is either tricky, or easy, depending on the part. A Composer composes and creates music I may need. If it is high quality and very good, I'd accept MIDI, but otherwise MP3. You may also record music. I once attempted to get Lord Xei to be a Composer.
-
Finally, and most importantly, are the Supporters! You wouldn't believe how much that keeps me going! In fact, I was overjoyed to still see some of those banners about. That is what inspired me to revive this topic.
-
Well, that's about it. If you have questions, applications, or anything, please give me a holler. Just be warned that in terms of artistic abilities, I'm quite picky.
