Rayman Pirate-Community

Those who want to get Windows Vista, but yet don't know if they can run some of their old games on Windows Vista, well, I've tested a couple of Rayman games on the system, here is a list of games which will run.

Rayman: Works, with Pok2's 2000/XP patch

Rayman Gold: Untested

Rayman 2: The Great Escape: Tested, will work on Windows Vista. (Tested on Vista RC1)
Rayman 2 Failed to work on Vista, the Vista full release.

Rayman 3: Demo was tested, game did not even open.

I will be testing Rayman and Rayman Gold as soon as I find the case.

As for Rayman 3, I would like to know if there are any trial version to download and try, is so please let me know. This including Rayman Arena for the PC.

2D Rayman games would require Windows Vista to include MS-DOS to work, which it won't.

And wait until reaching through Rayman 2 from beginning to end before declaring a success. On Windows XP, Rayman 2 works all the way from start until... the Tomb of the Ancients; however, there is a patch for that on Windows XP.

As for Rayman 3, you should test in both 16-bit and 32-bit texture modes just so that you can test the shaders for DirectX 9.0L again, since you've been having problems with some DirectX programs.

I have never had any problem playing Rayman 2 under WinXP, and I don't remember I had downloaded any patches

Thought I'd mention that if DOSBox works under Vista, then so will Rayman 1

Rayman 3 demo.... did nothing... I set it up... game wouldn't open.

I never heard of the Pirate Head glitch before, can you tell me what it is?

On Windows XP, after beating the Tomb of the Ancients, you see this screen with a pirate head and next to it, it says, "No disk found. Please insert the Rayman 2 CD."

Hmm no problems here at all. I'm at the crow's nest right now...trying R2 on my joypad no problems at all.

In the French version, the Pirate head appears at the very beginning of the Whale Bay.

That's weird, what error message did you get?

I tested Rayman 2 on Windows Vista Release Canadite one. Not Beta 1 or 2.

I have not tested it on the final build of Vista either. Which is RTM version.

I'll download another version and test Rayman 2

Right now I am unable to do any testing... seeing I am not running Vista anymore after it messed up.
