FL Studio 7, with a plugin called VOPM which emulates a chip similar to the one used in the Megadrive, then another plugin called Magical 8-Bit which is the closest you can get to emulating the chip used by the MD and the Sega Master System.

I've been hearing an awful lot about FL Studio lately. I'm guessing it's good? You have to pay for it though don't you?

FL Studio is indeed a very good program for making music yourself. It isn't as good as GoldWave for editing music tough

How much does it cost though?

Mine was given to me. It can be very complicated when you first use it but once you get to know how to use its plugins and load samples and stuff it gets fun.

Maaan, the full fat edition is like, $299 while Express edition is a mere $49.

Honestly, I don't really care how much it costs. I'm going to get it now... you know, my way to get programs like that.

Keep in mind that I spend an extra 500 EUR on a few sample libraries.
I use Jeskola Buzz in combination with FLStudio. I use FLStudio for a few VST instruments that don't work properly in Buzz.

I made my first songs already, but they're rubbish. Maybe I'll ever be able to make better music with it...

Sorry, I accidentally pressed the English Moderator button while my internet connection was messing up from the microwave being on. My mom was fixing dinner at the time and my wireless internet connection was scrambled. When it stopped, the page still continued to not load. Then it loaded, but Firefox froze up; after that I got a little(ok a lot) inpatient and it responded and I clicked the English Moderator button on an accident. I didn't know how to undo that action, Acarr.
