Well, it's almost the same here (in my school, can't say for all the Russian schools... my school pwns most of them tbh), the younger teachers don't really bother to check our homeworks, the older ones are quite bitchy about it sometimes though.

My Norwegian teachers is an exception, though. She always checks our homework. No wonder she's a bitch; she's from Sunnmøre (region in Norway), where 90% of the population are idiots.

Yeah it's always annoyed me that teachers who are supposed to be clever are often very dumb

Yeah. I used to have a teacher for English who even pronounced the word "disguise" wrong. -_-
She said... "disgouise". XD
And many other errors. She even gave me bad marks on tests because of her errors! x_x
Just like that maths teacher I had who didn't know maths at all, which is why I got 83/100 ( for maths ) the first year, when I had that teacher, then when I had someone else I had 98/100 and the third year 96/100. She really annoyed me, and she was so bitchy too. She was that stupid that I even made a petition to make her resign, but I never showed that to anyone but my friends.

We also have weird teachers here, but all of them know their subjects...

In primary school, we had got a person, that was P.E. teacher, informatics teacher, administrator of school web, trainer of volleyball representation of school and a few others.

There was no school web when I was in primary school xD

Now, we have got a few funnier situations, but not on teachers usually.... Only funny thing with teacher is going to be a teacher that would teach (oh man... ERROR #3 : TOO MANY SIMILAR WORDS! <restarting brain>) me and one girl. Nobody else in the lower secondary school. I wonder how much money would he get for this. Teaching 2 students?!

Well, he'll not die. There is always higher secondary school.

ERRR.... I don't get it. Did you mean some people wanted subjects that the rest didn't want?

Serza's post was quite clear actually... They weren't enough people to choose some subjects, so they were cancelled.

Ah, now I see. In our school, only choosable subject (arrrghhh.... I want to ask director (I know her a bit) isn't it possible to choose dance or informatics) is "second foreign language". Also note that the third one is unchoosable.

We have to learn Latin, if you were asking for it.

I was actually asking if the third language was obligatory. Because in France, we have to study two foreign languages (one of them has to be English), but we can also study Latin, Greek and a third language.

In our school it is. You know, I'm currently in a private one... it is not that bad except of 3 things.
3rd: There is no possibility you will have one third of lessons.
2nd: Informations about changes are day before'em.
1st: DANCE!?!?!!

I guess it depends what kind of dance it is. I used to learn square dancing, which sucks.
