For some reason paint.NET used to work well for me when I was using Windows, that's what I used when I made the Globox rank. Interestingly, I can never make it turn out the same way, even if I try make it again with GIMP. Using bicubic ends up making it way too sharp, while other settings make it too blurry. I'm not even sure what paint.NET was doing because I had the resizing method set to auto.

Interesting… I wish I had the motivation to install Paint.NET under Wine and remake those avatars.

Anyway, the poll results are in (see attached), and a majority wish to adopt the new ranklist as it stands. However, for the reasons outlined previously, I'm going to run another poll to finalize the choice of certain avatars, given that multiple choices already exist for several characters (i.e. no extra effort will be required, whatever the outcome). Wow, you guys weren't kidding in the last poll about wanting to use the latest draft as-is – option 0 has carried for every single character, by a comfortable majority for most!

So I guess all that's left to do is upload all the "new" ranks from the latest draft to the ranks folder, and stick all the alternatives that didn't make the cut into the Special Rank Archive! I'm too tired to do that now, but I'll try to come up with a list for both tomorrow, or at least in the next few days.

One last thing: once the list is implemented, there will also be Ting rewards for everyone who participated in making this a reality!

Sorry to double post, but after five months and two days, the new ranklist is finally in place!

Thank you all so much for helping make this a reality!

There was a slight last-minute change of plan with one of the avatars – see if you can spot it! Note to self: make sure new avatar filenames don't collide with old ones, even if the old ones are misnomers…

I also mentioned Ting rewards, didn't I? There is a reward of 200 Tings for each avatar made since the invitation to contribute, regardless of whether it was used or not. Elite Piranha gets an additional reward of 1000 Tings for the extra effort of creating a wiki page in parallel to mine, and helping me (and hopefully others) to organize my thoughts on the subject!

Thanks to everyone that helped and thanks to Plum for the reward (I didn't expect to get that many Tings), making the ranks was pretty fun. Also, it seems that the Special Rank Archive needs to be updated.

I guess it will seem weird with other people having the same pfp for a while because people would have been so used to it, but since it's a standard rank now, I guess that's going to happen.

Hunch wouldn't let me do this when I asked him, even though green Globox was actually named Globka and was seen in a Street Fighter parody from the Rayman Channel in Rayman Adventures.

I guess I can understand why it's not allowed though.
