No no :)

The second image you posted was a Black Lum. These are different from hoodlums. Using power from the leptys, the Black Lums can transform into new enemies called hoodlums. These creatures are both different from each other.

Remember that they could not run if they were only Lums in hoodlums

Plus the long arms make the hoodlums look cooler.

First the black lums don't know from the power of the leptys...
And the first hoodblaster getted a hoodlum because they spin around andre and make an outfit

In that case, they need some sort of energy. All I meant was they're not the same things.

Black lums are created from red lums, hoodlums are created by black lums.

That's probably for Ubisoft to know and for us to find out.

Also Xenon, to create the hoodlums, they just eat the fur from animals as we witnesed in the intro movie.

Red lums are probably created from remains of some ones energy.

The hoodlums in the final battle did not need fur.

Isn't there several black lums in one hoodlum?

I don't think so since when you kill one only one black lum comes out and in the opening movie Andre is the only black lum inside the costume.

Besides, if this theory was correct, how could the lums form a bigger monster like Heckler?

I think if we went into the scientific approach to much it would take away from the games magic and imagination.

There is no logical explanation for it.

Bunnieblaster is right, Dark lums use mawpaws' fur to turn into Hoodlums. But it seems that the power of the Leptys allows them to do anything without collecting fur ^^

Hooray for Hunchman!
But that still doesn't explain how their arms get so long.
