I think that the PS3 is a swindle. Sony, you've done it again. May be slightly better, but overpriced and overrated are two words that I don't like. Discuss the Playstation 3 here. I have much to say about it.

The only redeeming factors is that it uses Linux and has a pretty good processor. The graphics chip, though, is outdated (below) and the games are either things that are on other consoles already or unremarkable junky stuff. (Except for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots) There is a choice for a 20GB model for $500 or 60GB for $600, though that's been surpassed by twice as much--the Xbox360 has hard disks of up to 120GB. (No, any other time where games aren't concerned, I wouldn't support Microsoft.) As for that chip, it's only a 7800GTX in a world with the 8800GTX, and the chip was hardly modified for the console unlike the Xbox360's which was modified greatly to still be quite something in coming years. (You'll see that as technology advances--Xbox360 games will have better graphics.) The PoS3 isn't anything remarkable, just like the PoSP.

I agree. I have seen many videos that show trailers of PS3 games such as Warhawk and Ridge Racer. And I can honestly say that the graphics really are not that much better than the PS2 graphics. Well, they are probably slightly better graphics, but it isn't worth forking out 500 pounds for a console, with games that are costing 49.99 in England. I just don't think it is worth it. Plus, you need a HD TV to be able to expereince the "Amazing Graphics", and they cost 1000 pounds and up. So you are paying 1500 pounds for something that is not much better than the previous product. I hope that when/if the PS4 comes out, that it will be a lot better than this Overrated console.

Worst one of it's generation. The ps2 would probably be the best in that generation, but the ps3 sucks. I'm gonna get the Wii, and the Xbox 360.

Hopefully the next console, if they bring it out, will be a vast improvement on this abomination of a machine. The games are 50 pounds each, that's ridiculous.

Sony'd better drop the price or something. Analysts think it may pull through, though I think it has a better chance of ending up like the Neo Geo did.

I just don't see why it is so expensive. I mean, I would like one, but for the price, it's just too high. The PS3 will not be overrated until the price goes down by about 100 pounds.

At the risk of sounding like a kid: I remember the Neo Geos! I have one! My favorite game for it is 'Sonic Pocket Adventure'.

The PS3 may be good, but until it is lowered in price, it is extremely overrated.

I agree. I have recently sold a PS3, as I didn't have any use for it. Costing me too much. Rubbish graphics. Rubbish console. Let it die. Let the real PS3 rise.
Where did the Spiderman font come from? What about Zrinc (the old Playstation font)? Where did that go? I (maybe 'we') want it back!

No. For some games, they're almost as good as Xbox360 graphics, other games' graphics are just crap.

However good it is, I will never buy it at this price, even for Resident Evil 5 (I'm kind of a RE fan too).

They sell PS3's on Ebay for just a few quid, but I bet they are ones that are buggered.

Yeah, that sounds about right. Half the stuff on Ebay is screwed up.

Technical specifications, if you look deep enough into it, say that the Xbox360's Xenos is more advanced than the PoS3's card. It's being shown now, and it'll be even more evident as graphics advance.

They didn't turn out too well, though I was actually referring to the original home console--if you remember that.

The last ones I saw were either unamazing or choppy.

Heh, and then a lot of sequels released on the console so far were much, much worse than the PoS2 originals. (Sequels like Genji: Days of the Blade and Virtua Fighter 5.)
