Debate On Politics And Todays Issues

Hello, I thought I would do a thread that is mainly for the older members of this forum, I.E people who are adults and such. I thought we should talk about todays issues in the world and in more detail, Politics and the problems that effect the Recently elected Prime minister of England, Gordon Brown. As you know, there is a Huge concert that will be underway in many countries today. This concert will be for people to be made more aware about the effects of climate change and how it will effect each and every individual on the planet. And the debate for this is this; The many Bands and artists that will be arriving at these concerts will be using private jets, cars, private limos and the like. If they were so adamant about helping the environment, then why is Madonna arriving in a gas guzzling super car?. Think of how much electricity is being used to fuel all these concerts. Will these concerts just be to fill the pockets of a promoter with money?, there has been no charity announced that the money made will be donated to. The concert in England will most likely benefit the Bands and Artists and increase their publicity. And I ask myself this, "why can't the money be put to a better cause?". Like the people in hull and the Yorkshire area of England that are now homeless because of floods, people that won't be able to access their homes or get proper accommodation for 18 months or more. I think that this concert is a scam, simple as that. I know that it is great that every is having a good time and all that, but this is not solving the problem, in my opinion, it is a pointless en devour. If yo would like to have your say, then please do give us your opinion on this and other political issues that effect the world today.
P.S, This is an adult thread, so if you don't know what to say or don't have anything to say, then please don't reply to this thread, thanks.
