Whenever i type a url into my address bar, it redirects to a site called serial99. It drives me crazy! :grrrrrr:
Norton antivirus didn't find out what the virus is yet, so now i can only access what's on my favorites.

It's a spyware, so use adapted software like Ad-Aware (free and orsum) instead. Norton's an antivirus, it's designed for viruses ;)

Norton's powerful but far too heavy. It doesn't really suck.

I would suggest using system restore. Works every time.

The great thing about my computer is that it is a mac, so screw viruses.

Your computer doesn't screw them, it's just that almost all viruses are designed for Windows.

As timoo said, i think you should use Ad-Aware or Spybot Search & Destroy.

Or just call 911 and get an ambulance there to save the PC. :lololol:

*Ahem* Yeah... Spybot Search and Destroy works well. ;)

And System restore usually can fail if a virus gets on the PC, because some ruins them. Bewarned... nortan isn't as good as you think... :ouin:
Nortan is so horrible (from experience, mind you...) that it slows down even fast PCs, and allows dangours viruses to pass through, and sometimes it alerts you of a virus, and askes you what to do, and usally it can't remove the virus... I know people who can back this very well too... dumb nortan and it's torchers. :ouin:

My Virus protection really sucks. It says there is an "Inbound Malware Probe". So I am like, "well, I'll just press the "OK" Button on the Disinfect option. But does it disinfect it?, no!, it just allows the stupid thing to attack my computer and says disinfection failed. Well, if you actually tried to stop it, it probably wouldn't have failed. Stupid Virus Protection Motherfucker!!!! :grrrrrr:

One reason why I love Macs--no one uses them (unfortunately) and no one develops viruses for them. Virus protection isn't necessary because of that and that Mac OS is more secure.

I've hated Windows for a long time, though I haven't liked either Norton or McAfee. McAfee is a tremendous resource hog, and makes working on slower computers, well, you know. (As in I work with Celeron M laptops whose startup times have gone from around 2 minutes or so to at least 5, and typically a good bit more.) Norton doesn't protect. Several incidents where viruses had gotten through and did something or other on my computers, from modifying the home page to doing a high amount of damage to data requiring an OS reinstallation. Doesn't feel too good when that e-mail virus floating around which destroys your hard drive's zero sector (a fatal shot) can pass through your "protection." (I didn't get this one, thankfully, just a bunch of others) I've found the same type things with McAfee, just not quite as frequent. I use the free ZoneAlarm Firewall which monitors incoming and outgoing packets and data transfer, and I've never had any problems at all with this. My always-on always-networked laptop never got anything and there's no slowdown at all. (I plan on getting a ZoneAlarm Pro subscription soon because I'm so satisfied.)
