Xbox 360 Help

Ok everyone, as some of you might know, Halo 3 is coming out this month. I would usually be really excited but I am having problems with my Xbox 360. If anyone can tell me what they did to get theirs to work or how they sent theirs in please tell me.
Also here is what my 360 is doing wrong:
- Freezes.
- When I turn it back on after the freeze, my 360 makes a loud beep and then freezes again.
Should I just not play it for a while and let it reset or what?
