Dart's Art Collection

Edited as of 8/16/16:
Nearly 5 years ago (2010ish), I was inspired to do a little sketch based around a guy named "Dart." Well, 5 years changes a shit ton of things for a person and their work, to the point where the current products are unrecognizable from their pasts. In fact around that time five years ago I was just coming out of an extremely long and horrible time of depression, and I've doubted myself a ton because of that.

During a hiatus of posting on the RPC for the first half of 2015, I began to really flesh out and dramatically alter my work (both my story and my actual artistic skills) so that I could make it more publicly presentable. Sadly there was just one problem. I was incredibly shy. But thanks to encouragement of my friends Ben, Brittany, and fellow RPC member Bradandez, I feel like I finally have the courage to show even more of my work to everyone!

Here are the characters of my story, thanks for all the encouragement RPC! :mryellow:

By the time I've finished high school, I'm hoping to have developed a style that takes the expressive elements from 70's cartoons like the Flintstones and Scooby-Doo, and meshes them with the more realistic looking characters and environments from shows like Korra and well... Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated. Looking forward to both your comments and whatever the future may hold :D

Ooh! Dart, these look terrific!
I'd love to see more, perhaps you could try some full color pics?

Thanks you guys, and these were made before I got some coloring supplies. Most future work will be in color and (when I can afford the tablet I'm looking at) eventually be finalized digitally.

If that's the direction you want to go, you can start off using GIMP or Inkscape which are both free and easy enough to pick up. And don't worry about needing an expensive, sexy-ass drawing tablet; some people go by fine with a mouse/track pad and besides you can grab a cheap £10 one which does the job.

Great job ! It's nice that you gathered the courage to make a thread for your art, I don't think I could muster that same courage myself for now.
You remind me that I need to work harder and harder on my art, too.

Anyway, keep drawing, you're doing good !

An update to the thread:

To summarize, I have spent much time since October 2016 using sketch book to improve my drawing skills as much as possible. I have also decided that after this update I will begin working on finding a more proper place to showcase my artwork, preferably not Tumblr or Deviantart though. As for this thread, it's better to leave it and just occasionally update in the "non-rayman artworks" thread. Here's the final bit of artwork I'll be sharing on the thread, I hope you all like it:

I like that Wallace chav a lot. Also, that second last one is really quite nice.
