Yeah, finally, after thinking about it, that's really unfair... Like, all the game developpers that I asked, if I was like him, I could have said like 5$ to anwser 20 questions out of dev, it's completely bs... I mean, it took me a lot of effort to get to talk to developpers! (I added like 100 contacts on Skype, it's really annoying to add that much people) and all the questions you guy asked, I asked him and told you the anwser for free, because damn, we're a community. Almost everything this guy said was available thanks to us (community).
So, no point apologizing for this, and no regret for gameplay. I would have regret if there would be the costume principe + some playable real maps.

That still doesn't give you the right to outright steal someone's content in which quite a lot of effort was put. Sure, he doesn't have a copyright on Rayman content, he does have copyright on his own research, interviews and montages. Seems pretty childish to me that just because a video is not free for everyone that you are "entitled" to rehost it without crediting or paying the person that did the research for the video.OCG wrote: Situation with Rayman book cannot be compared to this in the slightest. The History Of Rayman is a copyrighted book and if author did not want scanning and was nice to all of us and enjoys this community, of course we won't scan it. Even I - the number 1 supporter of leaks did not scan the book because of friendly relations with author and respecting him. Tamaki owns no copyright related to Rayman and was just unnecessary teasing all of us for too long by making content Patreon exclusive. Sure I can understand somone keeping Patreon stuff exclusive for a bit but his delay was way too long. If leak did not happen, video would not be rushed on YouTube on the day it was and who knows if he would even release it by now. I hate people like him who just tease for no good reason when nothing is stopping them to release it. Tamaki deserves no respect from anyone and I don't think anyone should apologise to him. He is just a raging child who can't stand facts and blocks on Twitter even when others try civilized debates with him.
If someone wants money for something he put effort in and you don't wanna pay him: sure, but then don't be a dick and rehost the content while not paying him anything, and complain about him not doing anything for the community ever again. Just don't watch his content.

Honestly Tamaki has all the right in the world to be angry.

Re: Project: UnLockRay ( ULR / REL )
To be fair, his content was not distributed massively on internet and pretty much only here on RPC for discussions. Also, SpyroGuy did pay on Patreon otherwise he would not be able to leak stuff so claiming that this was done without paying is wrong but Tamaki already said himself he does not do this for money and all money are just donated to Unseen64 website anyways. If you think money was issue, he could have just monetized video on YouTube and earn that way.bunnieblaster wrote:That still doesn't give you the right to outright steal someone's content in which quite a lot of effort was put. Bottom line, while leaking his stuff was not the most moral thing to do, considering how badly he treated Rayman fans by limiting content to Patreon, he got what was coming and should have been less selfish and more sharing kind of person.

Agreeing with these statements right here. Who knows how long would we have had to wait until he "graciously" decides to share the infos with us.GOT4N wrote:Yeah, finally, after thinking about it, that's really unfair... Besides looking at the situation from now, I'm pretty sure that if I had actually paid something and still had written down the infos in text form without actually sharing any concrete data, he still would have thrown a tantrum at us.
I do see the error of my ways and I'm not ashamed to admit that what I did was somewhat questionable, but I have an almost nonexistent patience level for news such as this. If he has something to share he should show it instantly instead of fucking with people and telling them to wait. I've been waiting for a 3D Rayman experience for one and a half decade, so I'm not up for these teasing games. Imagine if GOT4N would announce to us that he's got some juicy details about the early development of Rayman 3, but would tell us to wait a few weeks for the info regardless of the info's actual relevance. Maybe it's a full design document from late 1999, maybe it's just a word. Just wait! Heck no.
Can't say that I'm proud of myself, but I'm not sorry either. In the end it wasn't worth it anyway because 70% of those infos were already known.
I'm pretty sure that the so-called "gameplay" is only a motion picture version of the same stuff we've already seen - Rayman or Raymen standing in a completely empty and/or flat plain or model piece which only has one or two textures on it.
Re: Project: UnLockRay ( ULR / REL )
Agree, he hasn't provided any image of new worlds except the test one, so it's very likely there's no more mapsSpyroGuy wrote:OCG wrote: Sure I can understand somone keeping Patreon stuff exclusive for a bit but his delay was way too long. Regardless of whether that guy has the right to be angry or not, holding the whole community responsible for the actions of one of its members is just beyond stupid.

Re: Project: UnLockRay ( ULR / REL )
I don't really care seeing as the R4 footage and concept art was really underwhelming. It wasn't worth the leakage.

Re: Project: UnLockRay ( ULR / REL )
I guess the textures for the old sam model are still in Rayman 2

It mentions a PSP cancelled Rayman game, does anyone knows what is it? It might be RRR that got cancelled

Re: Project: UnLockRay ( ULR / REL )
Interesting - it's listed under Phoenix Interactive, so it's either their version of Rayman 4 or a PSP version of RRR that used some of their old concepts like the GBA version.GOT4N wrote:https://ca.linkedin.com/in/aureliedebant

Re: Project: UnLockRay ( ULR / REL )
Wow… Now that's a surprise…
I've initiated this whole project back in 2008, I've gradually lost interest because of too little skills and too few people interested in it.
Yesterday, I wanted to make an update about Rayman 1 on the Playstation 1 because I've documented a few things… and I see all of this! A subreddit and a library to extract and read Rayman 2 content.
That's a really good surprise.

Yeah I think it started back from my bump in 2014 about Rayman 3, I couldn't imagine I would go that far when I started thoughLunaVorax wrote:Wow… Now that's a surprise…

Also, I was checking more RRR files, and Droolie already talked about Rayman 4 rabbids prototype leftover, but I'm not sure if he talked more about files theirselves. Like, there are plenty of functions about the rabbids prototype that got left.
Here everything that I found/was mentioned as function in game code:
- Infinite helicopter (as powerup maybe?): .ihelico_infini...............i
- Mounting eagles, rhyno, bats, shark, spiders
- Lums were planned to be back (as cages but I'm not sure): "_CINE_ReactRAY_Lum02.gao.........å"
- Ssam comeback? Definitely a snake though: i_mount_snake...
- Probably would've been an open world as it talks about restricted zones
- Races where you need to mash (I remember seeing a part in trailer when Rayman runs, it might have been that?) : "i_course_mashing"
- Kangaroos...? "Le Kangourou doit avoir un pogostick !!!" - Text from files
- Ninja? "Le Ninja doit avoir un réseau d'apparition "
- Teensies were supposed to be back it seems
- A shield would have been there!
- Some random "BullRush" would've been there but idk what it is: i_BullRush_target_paffed_flag."
- ... Scooter and UFO's !? (Monture_Scooter...............Monture_Soucoupe..)
- Globox comeback (GFX_Globbox_Stream3)
Of course, there is a lot left, but it's very huge and I got to find more things again

Re: Project: UnLockRay ( ULR / REL )
Please do keep up the good work, man, because this sounds very interesting!
Re: Project: UnLockRay ( ULR / REL )
I completely agree. Once I realised what was going on around the R4 Prototype issue, many fuel was already thrown to the fire. I would also be really pissed if a similar thing was happening to me but still, the problem is that the damage is already done and now the consequence is that everybody pays for it, even those who had no involvement and/or fault for the unauthorized leakage. I mean, once the L'Histoire of Rayman was released and arrived to my hands I respected Mr. Guarné's request of not scanning or sharing any direct content to the book so I tried to resume to essential points I found in the book and to be pertinent to refer. It is all a matter of ethics, I think. However, I can't fully defend Tamaki as I do not find his reactive reply and grudge towards the community the best (and most correct) and fully justifiable. Judging a whole community because of the acts of one person? I honestly feel attacked and the worst is that I had no fault or any involvement in the leak. Things could have gotten sorted out if he stood cool and enough open-minded for a, mature, discussion. In my eyes what he did was not very mature, I honestly fear. In short, he did not help either.Drolpiraat wrote:This. We didn't post any scans from the Rayman book either after we were told not to, did we? If anyone here wanted to see anything else from Tamaki, that video/podcast/whatever it was shouldn't have been shared here, period.bunnieblaster wrote:Eh, stealing someone's content and rehosting it without crediting is incredibly rude tbh... an apology would definitely be in order.
But even if he were to share a video from that prototype, it would be the most boring thing ever. The gameplay mechanics were in a very early state and there was only one untextured test map, judging from the screenshots that he shared. So... meh, not worth it.
Re: Project: UnLockRay ( ULR / REL )
Lack of Rayman 4 files in RRR on pc just like with Half-Life 3
Re: Project: UnLockRay ( ULR / REL )
Holy shit awesome dude! I wonder what this was going to be used for (Also, why the heck there's a black part on the bottom with a pair of eyes
) Do you think there's more scrapped stuff in the game?
Awesome work either way.
Re: Project: UnLockRay ( ULR / REL )
Seriously, you are amazing! I really wonder what it is and why this got scrapped. Better question is how did you find this unused object and how did you do this! You should definitely post it on TCRF!
Anyway, I posted something interesting in the Rayman 3 thread. In the cutscene while the Hoodlum headquarters explodes, Rayman is seen in this cutscene of how surviving it. While seeing Rayman, his shoe is his Rayman 2 shoe also seen in those rare beta pictures showing Rayman's hoodie in yellow instead red. Something which could be added in TCRF, because Ubisoft maybe forgot to change his shoes in this cutscene or it is an error, which I believe isn't the fact. Just want to know your opinion on this because you are pro at unused/beta stuff and maybe this little info could be useful, I dunno.
Anyway like always amazing job on finding all these unused stuff! Makes me excited to see more unused objects or characters in Rayman 3.
