Would I lie to you? - game

Right so I've only really played this sort of thing as a drinking game, but there's the tv show too if that helps.
Hopefully this works out in a forum. If anyone has better suggestions to improve the game, cough 'em up.

Ok, so the goal is to create a short story which is either true or not, but has to be believable enough to fool people. Other members can ask questions to try and find holes in the story for clues whether it's true or not. The member who answers correctly (whether it was the truth or a lie) gets to tell the next truth/lie next round.
I wish I could give out ting prizes but hey ho.

Example a truth/lie: "Last year I ate my Christmas dinner in the bath"

Example of a question: "Why would you do that?"

RULES:

1) Keep your stories short enough (Let's try to keep things lighthearted...)
2) Only 1 question per member
3) OP will answer 3 questions
4) You can answer if you think it's true or not whether you asked a question or not
5) Please don't keep changing your guess
6) OP can say whether it's true or not once members have posted their guesses

The member who answers correctly wins. If the winner doesn't give a story for some reason or another, someone can take their place. If nobody wins, the OP can play again unless someone wants to take over.

OKIE DOKIE I'll begin:

Did you take it to a psychologist?

Was the gerbil actually a hamster and was fed up with constantly being mistaken for a gerbil?

Because the other gerbil in the cage swelled up and exploded over a few days which left it traumatised
Matyuv wrote:Did you take it to a psychologist?
I don't think those exist for gerbils
Bradandez wrote:Was the gerbil actually a hamster and was fed up with constantly being mistaken for a gerbil?
Nah it was definitely a gerbil, unless the pet shop mis-sold me...

Okay, was I lying or not??

I knew a hamster who exploded, so maybe it's possible that gerbil can. But still, given the light-hearted nature of this topic, I'd say lie.

*gulp* Okay so it was TRUE, my gerbil got a tumour/cyst that made him swell up and pop (wasn't a pretty thing to wake up to in the morning, also the vets thought maybe it was pregnant so didn't go further) and my gerbil in question didn't leave the corner of the cage for the rest of it's life.

I think I'm going to set a rule where the subject of death etc. is a no-go. :?

Ok someone else can take over. :oops2:

I can try :

"Four years ago, someone thought I was a nazi, and it got me expelled permanently from my school "

Ask away.

What made them think you were a nazi?

Was that someone a fellow student or a teacher/school staff?

No particular thing, but in that school, rumors spread fast and those like that are quite lethal.
Matyuv wrote:Was that someone a fellow student or a teacher/school staff?
It was a classmate.

One more question that I can answer.

I know where you live, it ain't harsh for me to guess it isn't a lie.

Were you expelled in person or by a letter?

In letter.

Now, truth or lie?

Well it was almost true, but no. It is a lie.
Pirez wrote:"Four years ago, someone thought I was a nazi, and it got me expelled permanently from my school "
First things first, I shortened the accusation a bit. The real rumor that got spread out is that my granny slept with nazi back in WW2, and that it would make me the grandson of a nazi. This is big on one side because the last place on earth you would need honor is military school. But also, upon learning this, my dad retaliated by notifing one of the highest-general of the French army, which trickled down into a major shitstorm.

I did face disciplinary counsil upon which I had been given a choice : either transfer to another military school or be expelled. At the same time, a trio of generals (which superseeded the authority of my school which is only run by a colonel) vouched for me and stated that giving discipline to a victime would be a disgrace to the institution. Thus, in the end I didn't get expelled, though it got pretty fucking close to my ass.

This game's fun. Who's next?

And I got pretty more where they came from. Three years in military school, you experience things dawg.
