Rayman allusion to literature

Have games with Rayman ever alluded to, or referenced, other media, legends or literature?
The only ones I know would be Razorbeard and Razoff, which are references to Blackbeard and Zaroff and Artemis, though they are only references from the characters. Are there any other aspects that references literary works, such as in the environment of the levels? Are there any references to Lewis Carrolls "Alice in Wonderland"?
Would you say that Céloche, the boss in "the land of the livid dead" is a reference to Kraken? They are both large beings with large legs, or tentacles.
Bégoniax seems to be a reference to the witches during the Middle-Ages, though I am not sure which.
The stadium in "Clearleaf forest" is reminiscent of a gladiator arena, or coloseum, due to its spherical shape and large quantity of enemies.
Just wondering if Master Kraag isn´t a reference to a historical king with short stature.
