I think we might already have a topic for this but I'll bite.

My favourite game is arguably the first Half-Life, I've played it a dozen times and its aged ridiculously well for an FPS from 1998. Everything the game does feels so smartly thought out, ahead of its time, etc, it's top-tier game design. Breath of the Wild might become a contender though, I'm hugely invested in the game and it's easily becoming my favourite Zoroldo of the ones I've played.

My favorite is Rayman 2 and close is Rayman 3, but beyond Rayman it's probably Portal 2, the only game I've ever been truly hyped for.
A few others come to mind such as Ocarina of Time, Mario 64, Mario Kart Wii, maybe DJ Max or Stepmania or a similar rhythm game, Advance Wars, Doom (new and old), Gauntlet DL and Jak and Daxter/Ratchet and Clank.
I think that covers most of the popular genres, though some of those I probably enjoy more for nostalgia than actual quality.

DJmax is certainly a very niche one, never knew anyone who played it. I only had DJmax portable 3, and it was pretty fun, some great tracks too.

I like Mario kart 7 as well but definitely not Mario kart 8, I despise it.
But out of the Mario kart games. The DS version is what I would like after 7 only because I like the graphics but to be honest, I don't like the way blue shells(spiny shells) are used in the game.
