Is there anyone else here that watches game shows? The only one I do watch is Family Feud (from 2010-2018, Steve Harvey era).

I used to enjoy Who Wants to be a Millionaire back in its prime, alongside The Weakest Link. Both have concluded, though I've heard that the Weakest Link is coming back this year.

These days, the only gameshow I really watch is The Chase, though I don't follow it avidly.

Used to love Chris Tarrant Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and watch it all the time even though I was a kid and didn't know any of the answers.

I watch The Chase sometimes now. Bradley Walsh is very immature though and can't keep a straight face

That Chmelar question and the cartoon character Andy Capp. I don't even blame him though as I wouldn't be able to hold in a laugh either

Personally I think the producers do it on purpose, but it makes for an entertaining show. Besides, Bradley's a fun host, and I'm rather keen to see how he turns out in Doctor Who.

As for Millionaire, I'm still undecided as to what to think about them reviving it with Jeremy Clarkson, given how Clarkson's presenting style tends to be a bit more...antagonistic, I guess. But then again, that's from Top Gear, he might be able to change his style to better fit the Millionaire paradigm.

I hope he does change his style to suit it as I'd personally love to see that show back on the air. I read last month that Chris Tarrant said he wouldn't want to host it again that he's already done it for so long.

As for The Chase, I honestly think it's done on purpose also and it does make it more interesting. Contrary to what some people believe, people like to laugh sometimes or tend to find things funny. You probably would have people saying that's unprofessional and stuff but I think it's a bit of fun.

When I said he's immature I didn't even mean it in a bad way I'm a bit immature too, but you clearly can guess that

Edit: autocorrect seriously just brings me down sometimes

Oh yeah, definitely. It's particularly funny when the Chasers themselves have to try to hold in a chuckle, and I enjoy the banter Bradley gives with both contestants and Chasers.

I think it's that friendly atmosphere that kinda gives The Chase its charm, compared to more tense and dramatic shows like Millionaire or Weakest Link (both of which are enjoyable and have their own charm).

Yeah it's nice to have something different than the others so they're not all the same :)

I find it funny also when the chaser says some like "I'm going to offer you 40000, I suggest you take the 1000 because you're not very good

The Chase is pretty much the only game show I'll watch, on the odd chance that I'm actually watching TV. That is unless Craig's Takeshi's Castle is on, but I've only been able to catch it on air once in the past few years... Maybe they're phasing it out for the new Thailand series :(

The thing about the Chase is I don't know any of the English history. I've nothing against you guys like I only know 1 piece of Irish history and that's the 1916 Easter Rising

I just couldn't pay attention to it back then but I find history a lot more interesting now than I did then. I've no idea why.

Some of the questions on the chase that they get wrong actually leaves you wondering though how anyone wouldn't know that.

I remember which is a possible darts checkout being a question, now I know not everyone plays darts, but piece it together. You have 3 darts in your hand and even people that don't know about it know the bull is 50 and the highest score is 180 meaning clearly T20 is 60. The bull is a finish. Anyway one possibility was 169 and one was 170. Think the other was like 163 or something weird.

Now just think if you score 120 with 2 darts and are left with a double, you can't end up with an odd number. Then because it's trebles if you get T19 instead with one it's 117 because it's triple which is simple maths. You can't get 118 or 119 with 2 darts because you're going in triple.

Anyway that would be 167 then 164 then 161 (3 less each time because its a treble) etc. Needless to say both the contestant and chaser got that one wrong :P

I didn't know the bullseye was 50, or even that you had 3 darts! The only piece of information that my mind makes a connection with when thinking about darts is the number 180 :P

Hahaha well then maybe it's not for everyone. I like watching it though and used to be alright at it but haven't played it in a while. Probably a few sports you know that I haven't a clue what the rules are

Probably not to be honest, I know practically nothing about any sport except maybe ping pong as it's the only one I enjoy (kind of)

Likewise really. I know the rules of football and support a team but I don't watch it very often. I spend much more time fixing stuff or on my computers than watching sports tbh. Only reason I know all that about darts is its maths and I used to love playing it a lot.

The US version of the Chase has a woman host (Brooke Burns) and the Beast as the lone chaser. I used to watch it regularly a couple years ago, but when they stopped making new episodes I quit watching it, since they kept showing the same ones over and over again on the Game Show Network.

Say, did anyone here see the new Takeshi's Castle last thursday? Was it good or bad? I'd like to know because I can't really watch it at the moment. :fou:

Takeshi Kitano has his own show? Consider me intrigued.

Oooh a Japanese game show? I too am curious about it now (then again Japanese culture ALWAYS intrigues me). So far I only watch Food Network Game shows, Family Feud, Pyramid, and Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Those are the ones I can think off the top of my head, but there may be others. As strange as it sounds, I love it when people give dumb/stupid answers.

Actually, the new episodes are being recorded in Thailand IIRC. The original episodes were recorded in Japan though.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and Chris Tarrant was my favorite, those show are very nostalgic, even though I don't have much time in hand. but whenever I got opportunity I still watch old how on YouTube.
