I assume we're talking about the PC version?

Sanity check: is the disk full?
If not, you mightn't have permission to write to the save file location. Have you tried running the game as administrator?

EDIT: Oh, and welcome to PC!

Please don't post multiple posts in such quick succession. You can delete your previous post before posting a new one, or use the edit button.

Anyway, no, that won't work. It believes your hard disk is full. The DVD is supposed to be unwritable.

Are you running the game directly from the disc, rather than running the installed version? If so it's trying to write to the disc which it can't.

If you really can’t free up space on your hard drive you can copy the game files from the DVD to a USB flash drive or something and run it from there.

The drive isn't the issue since the files are kilobytes in size. Either the game is lacking permission, which should have been solved by running as admin (unless it's installed in some weird system folder), or the game is running from a non-writable location such as the original disc.
