Re: R.I.P Internet
I don't honestly know and I really don't know who in their right mind would vote yes. I foresee a lot of protesting and the entire thing being abolished, because excuse my language, but it's absolutely fucking ridiculous!
Edit: It would also be pretty crappy of Ubisoft if they actually went so far as to deny the use of the characters here.

Re: R.I.P Internet
I dont think ubisodt realy cares about that
Re: R.I.P Internet
Same here, but it's RPC held responsible instead of the uploader due to the law, so it would depend on whether Ubisoft felt like suing. I highly doubt it, but the sites hosting the images will be really cautious over the whole thing to avoid lawsuits.

Re: R.I.P Internet
There is one last hope those in the eu have.
That is if their own country doesn't decide to use the new article 11/13 laws.
The Rayman PC forum could live on if it becomes text only, no audio, no visuals.
or.. best case scenario Ubisoft gives us the green light to continue doing what we do.
With Article 13, it would have to be Ubisoft that fines the site not the EU and if I remember correctly I thought I heard someone years ago on here saying that Ubisoft was fine with this site.

Re: R.I.P Internet
I'm fairly sure Ubisoft doesn't mind, but the only reason people seem to be worried is that their servers are held responsible for hosting the copyright content instead of individuals. I hear it's better for music artists, but I have no issue paying for music, I just don't want a butchered internet where you can't share fuck all while nobody ever had an issue with it before.

Re: R.I.P Internet
Spread this following information far and wide to anyone in the EU as this is the current loophole/workaround to Article 13
An alternative to Youtube that can bypass Article 13 legally is Bit Chute.
They have a lot of copyrighted uploads and its gaining a lot of popularity recently. Alex Jones (the one that got banned from Facebook, Twitter, and Youutbe..) is on there. It is a fairly new video streaming platform
Now the reason it is able to dodge Article 13 is because all the user uploads are peer to peer and they aren't actually hosted on the platform, it is instead each user that handles that.
Think of it like torrenting in your browser but on Youtube, but it isn't Youtube.
So actually maybe Article 13 made things better for us. Because if only the website is responsible for the copyrighted content and not the user then in the case of Bit Chute, the users cannot be fined and the Platform is not involved in it either so thank you Eu, you shouldn't had messed with it.
It goes to show those that voted didn't know what they were doing, even if it benefited them they wouldn't know.
You can learn more about Bit Chute here with this link. (it's safe, probably safer than Youtube actually.)

Re: R.I.P Internet
Eh, he's a right-wing pro-gun anti-vax nut-job who accuses families of mass-shooting victims of making the whole thing up and generally goes around causing upset. I wouldn't want to go near him.
Of course my post was only semi-serious (hence lack of caps/punctuation) – my point is that Alex Jones' presence isn't a particularly good thing to mention when trying to encourage sane people to go somewhere.

Re: R.I.P Internet
If you dont like that one creator's content, that is fine.
There are other chennels on it, like with Youtube.
I think I know a kinda popular EU Youtuber that is on Bit Chute I think he goes by the name Computing forever.
All that is beside the point, the reason any one in the eu should use Bit Chute or any website or app that is peer to peer just like it, is because then you could then legally go back to an internet that once was even with Article 13 around. They also have some Rayman videos on Bit Chute that you can stream.
