Rayman is owned by Ubisoft, MSDOS and Windows is owned by Microsoft, Jaguar is owned by Atari, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast is owned by Sega, PlayStation is owned by Sony Computer Entertainment, Nintendo 64, Game Boy, Gamecube, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, 3DS, Wii, Wii U, Switch are owned by Nintendo, all other platforms owned by their respective owners. This is only a Fanfic saga inspired by the scrapped Pac-Man Ghost Zone story.

Edit: To clarify, it will be a mishmash of all the Rayman Games, save for the rabbids since I consider the Mushroom Kingdom a better fit for them. And yes, the computer is a MSDOS Machine.

Upon my family buying a MSDOS Machine, I manage to get the shipped machine as well as the entire 1995 Rayman Saga for MSDOS, including the expansion packs and educational games. I took note of the DOS Prompt.

"But I wanted the latest hardware." "You're far too young for that sort of stuff. Why don't you play RAYMAN, the game that came with the PC?" "Rayman? Why would anyone want to play him? Where's all the blood and gore? This game is something for little kiddies. Stupid old game, YOU STINK!"

Beyond the barriers between this world and the Glade of Dreams, the baddies were riled up. "Yo! Little Jack! Pop in the data discs and I'LL SHOW YOU WHO STINK!" A caped figure who answers to the name "Mr. Dark" is preparing the Luminator Beam. "Finally, an opportune time to try out the Luminator Beam. This sucker will have to be our Guinea pig for the time being. Once the Beam is finalized, I'll have no shortage of Challengers!" "You heard Mr. Dark! READY THE WEAPON!"

Upon the weapon warming up, the Luminator Beam fires, sucking me in into the Glade of Dreams from the fourth walls.

It's after the trip that I manage to get my bearings. No Limbs? Hold on, Am I Rayman? I thought I would be a assassin at least, but I noticed a fairy type creature who is rushing towards me. Ly was it? "So Mr. Dark's weapon had a successful test. This may be a bit much for the Glade."

"Excuse me, Mr. Dark's weapon? How did I wind up on the other side of the fourth wall in this "Glade of Dreams?" "You must that "Challenger" Mr. Dark wanted so bad. The form you took the instant the Luminator Beam sent you here just so happen to be the Heroic Thingamajig "Rayman."

"As such this might hurt you a lot but you can't actually die permanently, you may as well be trapped here unless you can rise up and complete every challenge the diabolical fiend have in store for you."

"Well, If I want to see my family again, thank them for this killer thriller, I guess I better get started. As of 15 seconds ago, I am suddenly ready to wage war against Mr. Dark. What should I do first?"

"Find Betilla in the Pink Plant Woods. It's not far from here and she should lend you a hand. Don't Forget that you must free all the electoons before you challenge Mr. Dark in the upcoming Showdown." "Where's this Grudge Match located?" "Candy Chateau. Mr. Dark will also send all manner of mayhem makers to try and best you."

"But what if I need to take a break?" "The Good Magician named "Dr. Momento" run a series of inns. In case you need to Save your Progress to try again upon Game Over you must meet with him at his locations. He'll also be running challenges to test your mettle."

"So I guess I should get going! All Right Mr. Dark, I'll be sure to give you a match you won't forget!"

And so it begins, the saga called "RAYMAN DARK ZONE."

Your fanfic sounds pretty interesting. Also, part of this fanfic reminds me of some histories involving a human (generally a teenager) turning into Rayman (usually in his Rayman 2 appearance).

As soon as Ly sent me on my way, all I had was walking, jumping, crouching, crawling and climbing. All right, since I'm new to this I may as well learn my motions.

Jumping onto some vines I started climbing and jumping one to the next. As soon as I reached the floating platform I notice a trophy sitting on the ledge. "Guess you need me to explain some things to you. That trophy represents an Extra Life. When you run out it's Game Over and you'll have to start over from one of Dr. Momento's Inn where you last saved."

"Why is he called Dr. Momento?" "He really likes Dr. Demento's show and it's to separate him from "The Magician." The Magican is separate from Dr. Momento as he (The Magician) turned to the Dark Side after getting infatuated with it's Power. Dr. Momento ditched the Magician name afterwards and donned his new name to distance himself from The Magician."

"Ah. I noted a Orb with the letter "P" on it. Is that a Power Up." "That's a Power Refill. It refills your energy meter. Big ones refills to maximum and give you a few additional points of Energy. You lose it upon losing a Life however." "Blue orbs?" "Tings. Collect 100 to gain an Extra Life. You'll also need ten of them to enter the various tests Dr. Momento have set up for you."

"Got it. I guess this tutorial is necessary for those who have yet to get started on this." "That it is. Now then, I guess we better get going." After collecting the Extra Life, Full Refill Orb and some tings, I manage to scale a few platforms to reach the next area.

The next Area of this world happen to have a plant with a big leaf as it's placed in a particular area. Upon reaching a vine, I notice a series of tings placed around the vine. "This could be useful." upon collecting them I spy Dr. Momento's top hat. "Over here!" Upon reaching him, he introduces himself.

(Dr. Momento's voice is your choice of Magician Voice, but I prefer the American Version's voice.)

"Ah yes, you must be the challenger. I am Dr. Momento! I see you have enough tings to challenge the tests I have in store." "Yes sir. Here's some of them." The tests are platforming trials with no enemies in sight. Upon collecting the targets within the time limits "PERFECT! YOU WIN AN EXTRA LIFE!"

However, a devious magician noticed his good guy counterpart Dr. Momento interacting with me. I didn't notice him at first but he ran off to report to his superior Mr. Dark.

Upon leaving Dr. Momento's test, I jumped onto the Big Craning Plant to notice small Dark Blueish Black beings who are patrolling the area. Oh yeah, I have no attacks starting out. The best thing I could do is jump over the Antitoons as I manage to make it through several very small island platforms.

I noticed a Henceman 800 patrolling the upcoming section. Ducking down I tried crawling around him. "Razorbeard and several other bad guy factions must be working for Mr. Dark. I didn't remember Mr. Dark being their superiors last time Rayman fought through them all." "Right Ly. I guess they decided to work together upon..." Reading the top of the pamphlet tucked in the Henceman's pocket "...The Luminator Beam's completion."

The Henceman noticed me and proceed to lock and load. "HALT!" "Uh-Oh!" I had to sprint but I couldn't yet! "You don't have any abilities! Not even a attack! All Right, We'll make it easy until you get a attack!" He aimed several steps ahead of me as I jumped over his projectile shot. A few jumps later, I was ascending platforms as he shook his fist angerly at me. Soon the next section of the Area is near. "YEAH!" I was really feeling good to shout that.

Soon we are in a clearing. "So Ly, what is the Rayman like?" "He once donned a Neckerchief then later a hoodie. You have a Hoodie on you right now." So I noticed. "He was cheerful, brave, showboating, yet he doesn't take himself too seriously." "He must sound like a great guy to be around with."

"I think he vanished long ago when Mr. Dark returned. The villains captured him and copied his data for the Luminator Beam to have a reference point when beaming others from beyond the fourth wall. He is then told that unless he values freedom for others, he would work for them or witness everyone being enslaved with no way out."

A flashback from Ly's perspective shows up, witnessing Rayman deciding begrudgingly "All right Mr. Dark. I will work for you to keep everyone else's freedoms in tact, but I will not like it one bit, if ever at all." "Good choice Rayman. You will don a pallet like that of the Raynemesis, keeping your purple torso with Red Hoodie, Orange Hair and Yellow shoes to avoid confusion with Raynemesis, nor the upcoming Challenger that will be arriving soon."

The cages containing Ly and the various others open up. "The rest of you may leave to work with the upcoming Challenger. I will be sending him or her an invitation they wouldn't refuse. Don't let them disappoint me."

The flashback footage ends with Ly sighing. "Now Rayman is working with the various forces of evil, although he stated that he will hate doing so." Soon Ly and I encounter Betilla the Fairy. "Welcome back Ly, and welcome Challenger. I am Betilla the Fairy challenger and I will be helping you on your quest. You have been wondering why you have no abilities aside from the basic maneuvers. That's because Rayman started out the same. I will however give you powers as you progress."

Betilla proceeds to use a reserved Silver Lum specifically designated to give me the Telescopic Punch. "A Silver Lum? I never experienced this before in real time." Upon receiving my power "This will allow you to punch with your telescopic fists. Beware of Rayman though as he will do battle with you at various points. I'm sure Ly told you all about his begrudged alliance with them."

Great, the original Rayman is going to fight me at various points in my adventures. Have we told you that he would never enjoy being a bad guy enough times already? I proceed to wind up a telescopic punch, flinging it straight ahead. "You must face off against Mr. Dark and his forces of evil." "I will. I'll figure things out if given the chance." upon jumping up and punching a Plum, I manage to make it to the next area.

...After finding some secrets at my starting point of the area, I manage to punch a Plum onto a Explorer's head. The plum lached on to him and I am able to get a Speed Punch. "With the Speed Punch powerups, You can make the punches go up to three speeds faster. The Gold Punch behind you will boost your punches' power by making them "Gold with Power." Both will be gone upon losing a life." "But it's floating in a section of the river, I can't swim yet!" "I'm sure you'll figure things out, like you said."

Upon punching another Plum into the small section, I nab the Gold Punch. I find a Cage beyond the point where the first Speed Punch resided. "Sometimes various things will show up upon triggering invisible points. Most of them are traps but some are goodies, even revealing a cage. Well, I told you what you could encounter item wise, don't forget that there are more stuff that you have yet to experience. Good Luck and I'll meet you at the nearest Inn."

And with that, Ly hurried off as I proceed to go on my way.

Well I'll have to split the rounds into multiple parts, starting to lose my train of thought. But the Challenger will have a lot more to experience so don't worry.
