RayWiki - References

In the Rayman 3 page on Raywiki, Rayman 3 should have "references to the comic book series Bone by Jeff Smith, the books of L'Ursula Le Guin and to Hayao Miyazaki's movies (Princess Mononoke, Totoro, etc.)".

Have anyone actually found those references? I looked through the entire game, but I couldn´t find them.

May be those references were cut due to time constrants?

Also, there are some more references in Rayman Raving Rabbids, but may be someone has found some are more?

I suggest to maybe check the page history to see who added this information, so that we can ask them if they're still around.

This or ask boombo, he probably knows.

Oh Hunch, you flatter me. :proud:

As indicated by a note, these information come from L'Histoire de Rayman, the well-known French book. And it's true, I read that too.

Unfortunately, the book doesn't give any example. And unfortunately, I've never read the books of Jeff Smith and Ursula Le Guin.

For Miyazaki... I haven't seen all his movies... I can tell that there are references in Rayman 2 like the giant trees, the natural landscapes, the elemental temples, the small caterpillars, the Grolgoth (most of these references have been confirmed by Michel Ancel in a video), but in Rayman 3... I can't tell.

Sorry, I don't think I can help this time... :oops2:

Could you include those reference in the Rayman 2-page on RayWiki?

Are you sure these are direct references and not just naturalistic motifs?

Also, in the "Land of livid dead" there are small birds in the first level and the spiky enemies on the ground. Are those references other games or movies?

Didn´t the author of L´histoire de Rayman have an account on the forum?

Maybe the correct term is more "inspiration" than "reference".

Michel Ancel speaks about it in this video, timecodes 10:08 and 15:48

I don't know.

The spiky mushrooms, the Podocrocks, may be inspired by the Goombas of the Mario games.

Indeed, but he didn't posted on the forum since a long time.

You can always send him a PM though, his account here is Motormike. He's a pleasant dude, he'll probably reply if he gets the notification.
