I need MOAR Rayman 2

Hi everyone !

A few month ago I founded a way to play Rayman at higger resolutions than the classics 640x480 or 1024x768.
My father just bought a new screen (just 3hours ago). A gorgious 22' screen capable of displaying at 1680x1050. First idea... Play Rayman 2 at 1680x1050.

That's all, I made few screenshots.
Enkoy :D

Blimey, so much detail in these shots... it's weird how much of it is lost when playing the console versions of the game on a TV. :P

Yeah, especially the N64 version. Lower quality textures and music. =(

At least the PC version's got a lot better music and graphics. I never really changed the resolution of Rayman 2 on my PC. So, I'm wondering how well they'd turn out for Luna.

Here's the explanation, in French unfortunately.
However, I also edited the english wiki entry of Rayman 2 few month ago. Check it out.

However, no time for other screenshots, maybe in two weeks... maybe...

Well, I don't speak French, but I understood something...

1. Find file called ubi.ini. It should be in C:/Windows/UbiSoft/, if you have Windows on partition C.
2. Open it with notepad.
3. Find a 'paragraph' starting with [rayman2]
4. Find there a line looking like this:
GLI_Mode=1 - 640 x 480 x 16
5. 16 (the last number) means number of bits used to describe colours. Don't change it.*
6. First two numbears mean resolution. Change it.

7. Save.
8. Run Rayman 2.

*) If you want, you can eventually change it, however:
a)Remember you can cause BSoD.
b)Remember you can cause crash of hard disc.
c)Remember you can cause changing of BIOS settings, and they can cause burning of your motherboard.
d)Put there multiplied 8. (8, 16, 24. Eventually 32.)
e)Remember I haven't tried it. And I will not.

It's always fun to screw around with the .ini files. (I created a shield jump like that in Unreal Tournament 2003 that wasn't initially available and put coding for color in my player name and did a couple other things) Those screenshots remind me of how I was awed by Rayman 2 when I first got it. Given my monitor, I should probably try for 2048x1536 when I find Rayman 2 again...

Wow, you've got really good graphics and monitor, if it can work.

By the way... I opened my ini file. Look:

Things I have noticed:
1. R3 doesn't appear in installed products paragraph.
2. I haven't got Rayman Arena. (If I remember correctly, Arena was released after RM. What?!)
3. All games use same element for reolution.
4. R3 and R2 say 'English' instead of Polish. However, RM says 'Polish'.
5. Volume name (what is it?) of RM is RAYMANM1. Rayman Multiplayer 1?! So Rayman M 2 was already planned?!
6. Identifier is not game identifier, it is PC identifier, cause it is same for RM and R3.

Sorry for off-topic, but I haven't got idea where to post it...

If I can recall, the PC version of Rayman M had 2 discs.

That's true, however to play we've got to press disc 2.

Does the DC version look as good as the PC one when played on an emulator?

Just about.

If so, then that means the DC version is the best, as it has five extra minigames.
