Re: What games are you currently playing?
I've played the PC demo--definitely the most immersive game anyone has ever played, I will say that. It's actually legitimately creepy, and it's set up so complex, though so well. I'm thinking I just about have to get myself the full version of Bioshock then, whether it be Xbox 360 or PC.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I only recommend the PC version if you have a fairly decent machine by today's standards. Otherwise, you might enjoy the 360 version (or maybe the upcoming PS3 version) more. My only complaint about it so far is that parts don't look that impressive graphically compared to a game like Half-Life 2: Episode 2, but it lags up my machine on occasion.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I have a lot of newer stuff in mine--Core 2 Duo E6750, 3GB RAM, 8800GS. I can play it on all high at 1280x960 and FRAPS shows that it consistently at the Unreal Engine 3's frame cap (62FPS). (I should go into the .ini and try disabling its frame rate cap and see how it goes--probably not much better though, given I already tried it with Unreal Tournament 3.) I'm still considering the Xbox 360 version though. I'm not concerned about the performance of the PC version, though I still might just get something new for my 360.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
Oh yeah, that's about the same hardware I have. XD Well, one of the pluses of the PC version though is that it's cheaper.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I've considered that as a plus (don't have too much money around right now), and I've also considered it due to first-person shooters simply being better on a PC. (I'm in an Unreal Tournament 2003 clan--I can't imagine playing like that on a console shooter without some sort of keyboard and mouse peripherals.) And I also have to agree with that other point. It didn't look quite as good as some of the other stuff out there, though they definitely used a lot of nice-looking scripted events to cover up for it.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I haven't played the whole way through on the 360 version, so I don't know if the lag instances are there, like they are on my PC at times... though console games aren't always free from lag either.
One thing I don't get about the keyboard and mouse controls in Bioshock though is that they're more complicated than they have to be. I mean, function keys for plasmids and numbers for weapons? Why not have numbers for both?! And you just select plasmids while in the plasmid weapon mode?! Whatever. XD Plus it recognizes 360 controllers ONLY on the PC version, it doesn't recognize my Logitech gamepad. I should probably buy a new one though... -_-

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I haven't played the Xbox 360 version at all (I just know I can, hehe). The demo only has the electrical plasmid, so I can't say much about that, though even as far as I was, the PC controls were still somewhat awkward for me. (Maybe they don't want you to see that far, hehe.) I don't have a wired Xbox 360 controller, though, so I can't use a gamepad for it either I suppose. (I've only ever bought an adapter to hook up an original Xbox controller through USB, though then it was mostly to play Metal Gear Solid 2. The problem with that game is that the "porting" is only so much that it works on the PC. The keyboard controls are terrible, and it even references Xbox buttons in-game--and even worse--the manual! Great game, though uh...shabby port.)
Re: What games are you currently playing?
There's mainly just no excuse for this though just because it was a PC game ported to the 360. XD Oh well. Bioshock is still a must-have, in my opinion. Very fun and quite atmospheric once you get over the shortcomings.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I'm playing Anachronox. You probably haven't heard of it, since it was a commercial failure and a rather old game, but it's a true gem amongst rpgs if you ask me. x3
In your party, you can choose to have a hobo of a detective, a mad scientist in a fugly green jacket, a cheeky toy robot, an ex-stripper, a grumpy old man (who is ironically the one who deals the most damage in combat), an entire planet that's shrunk itself, including population and all, and a super-hero from a comic book. I fucking love it.

Currently, I'm playing Morrowind. Some of you should know it. Precursor to Oblivion. Anyway, I'm addicted. The unlimited modding capability is awesome. There are literally endless possibilities, so it makes the game amazing every time. Love it!

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I've got Morrowind on the xbox. It's awesome. :3 I have to admit I like Oblivion better, though. :B Maybe except for it's lack of awesome city-layout. Oblivion-cities are dull and blah. Morrowind had those Telvani-wizard-cities where the houses were in the trees and stuff. I thought that was awesome. It also had a lot of other awesome city-types. I also miss the fact that you can't summon a bunch of creatures at once in Oblivion. That was my primary tactic when fighting in Morrowind. Summoning lots of daedra, running of into the distance and blast the enemy from there. *coward*

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I've completed Super Paper Mario. It's annoying, because i can't use Tippi anymore. But the last boss was pretty easy, actually.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
It only took me one to beat this one. But no Tippi... that's a hard price to pay.

The thing is, it sold so horribly because it came right after Daikatana, and also happened to have a buff-ish main character, a woman, and a black dude on the cover... and it reminded people of the hurt they felt from Ion Storm's crap of a game.
Thanks, John Romero.
Thanks a whole freaking lot, John.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
There are those who can lead and those who can follow. John Romero's proved that he can definitely be a follower (considering many of id Software's first games which he had a part in), though he's also proved that he cannot be a very good leader. As long as John Romero goes back to his origins as a follower, he should be a lot better off. (In addition, no more offensive posters either.)
I've never heard much about Anachronox--probably because I really can't get into RPGs very well. (Same thing with strategy games.) It sounds pretty good though, so I might check it out if I ever come across it.
