Pirez wrote:You're goddamn right it doesn't look like anything spectacular! Gameplay-wise it looks like the classic series but with a running speed that I would describe as "between Megaman 7 and Megaman 8", which is not a good thing. The dash ability does not seem to add any dynamism to the mix, instead it just looks like a "obligatory overkill", for lack of a better term.

Art-wise, it seems to be more inspired by the Megaman Star Force series and Powered-up, which is a personnal faux-pas, but that will be the least of my problems once the game is out.
It looks good but nothing about it screams "4 million dollars"

I love Infaune but he got incredibly greedy with the kickstarter, asking way over the limit. An animated series that likely won't be very good. Let's see how the game itself is though.

Not to mention another kickstarter for the "Zero" DLC.

I must say this does bring back good memories. Haven't heard a sexual Megaman joke for too long now.

@Melody
I don't think they attempted to copy Anime when they made Mega Man cartoon. It looks like a classic American cartoon IMO.
To me, it was not that bad and entertaining.

Wrong website mate, lol.
Pirez wrote:You mean the NT Warrior TV serie?
NT Warrior was alright as far as anime/videogame adaptions go, not shitty like Sonic X. I love the Battle Network series but a lot of the spinoffs it delivered were rather mediocre, Battle chip challenge and Network Transmission specifically (Sorry Adsolution).

Network Transmission felt like it tried to combine the classic Megaman and throw it in the style of Battle Network, I think this resulted in a huge cluster fuck.

Edit: Someone here should totally start a poll on what our favorite Megaman series was. For me it will be X. Not including X6 and X7.

The X serie is my personnal fvorite as well. (except X7, obviously. But I happen to like the atmosphere of X6)

But if I were to list the top games of the series, it would be actually be spread across the different series.

I own physical copies of every X game and X6 was really when things went downhill. I think X5 was a perfect finale, and the Zero series was a fantastic spiritual successor. X6 was the first X game without Infaune's involvement and it really shows. It was quite honestly made out of Capcom's pure greed. X7 was a fucking joke, horrible voice acting, they really tried to experiment with X7 by putting the fast paced action of X7 in a 3D environment. Similar to Castlevania, Megaman X didn't handle the 3D transition well, horrible camera of course is also very common. I hope no Megaman fans ever have to touch that game. X8 however, redeemed a lot from X7, it kept the fast paced gameplay of the normal X games, it redeemed a lot. My only gripe with X8 was that it was sort of like Sonic Adventure 2 battle, a lot of the levels were forced gimmicks such as car riding and such, X, Zero, and Axl all controlled incredibly well, I think it was the perfect transition for X into 2.5D. Unfortunately a lot of people don't remember X8 because X7 was so bad that a lot of people just stopped caring for the series.

So is Megaman 6 (and some will argue that Megaman 5 and 10 as well). Inafune worked on those.

I must be the only living person in the world to think that, but I think that Megaman X could work in 3D. In fact, during my time writing for The Rockman World, I even made drawings on how it could be possible (but they were never published and the drawings were lost)

Yeah, pretty much that. Although :
- The gimmicky part of the levels goes back to X4 and the Ride Chaser levels. Nothing new was added beside 3D. Except there's two now (GigaBolt Man-o-war and Avalnche Yeti). Also there's Gravity Antonion and Dark Mantis' stage who is a bit gimmicky but not that much...
- Axl is the clumsy twat I would strangle the most if I were to change anything from the serie

I need to better elaborate on that, despite the fact the NES Megaman games were pretty milked after 4, they still had that infaune charm, I wasn't feeling that with X6.

It could, but Capcom poorly executed it.
Pirez wrote:- Axl is the clumsy twat I would strangle the most if I were to change anything from the serie
Lot of people don't like Axl, he was certainly fun to play as in X8, but he really is not a great character. X and Zero though are the perfect duo team.

I agree. Megaman 2 is a great entry for those new to the series. I've really enjoyed it as my first Megaman game.
