Unfortunately, I would have to agree. The gaming industry is filled with far too many "cash-ins" and exploitation of licenses. Not only is it bad when developers don't conceive an original concept and make a game based off another's successful creation, but larger teams and publishers thrive off their once "new" and "innovative" concepts by exploiting them to yearly sequels, with people always expecting to see a new Assassin's Creed, Super Mario, or Call of Duty game every single year. No one takes risks anymore, namely with new hardware, and they expect their products to sell off brand-name alone. The Wii U and PS Vita are a perfect example of this practice, the platforms aren't selling well for the explicit reason of the being either little to no quality software. And instead of trying to release a great title that would sell more hardware, publishers rely on sub-par or low quality products to push sales for the holiday season instead of making a lasting impression on players. Or they further refuse to take risks by porting to other consoles that would dull down the game experience (Rayman Legends). I seem to enjoy games made by small or independent teams who actually care about the soul of their project rather than how quickly can we get this out for holiday season.
On another note, I am really anticipating the release of Abe's Oddysee: New N' Tasty.

What Wii U and Vita need is a good brand new IP 3D Platformer.
And sadly it's true. Unlike in 90's games today are mostly just for money.

The Vita has Tearaway. Also, while not much of platformer, Gravity Rush looks to be a nice experiment.

To ask a question, what platforms will everyone here be purchasing Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee New N' Tasty for?
I intend to purchase it on Wii U (if my situation with that console works out) or PC. Or I might purchase it on PS4 or Vita instead if I end up acquiring one of the two platforms.

I will buy it on Steam when it comes out and possibly on Wii U when I get the console once.
Also, and good update for PS3 users: http://www.oddworld.com/2013/11/good-ne ... -tomorrow/
America got screwed sadly, but don't blame Oddworld Inhabitants. Blame Sony.
Well, Americans can always make European account and get it since it's region free. I have American account as primary, but I have 2 or 3 Europeans (depending on country) and Japanese one as well.

Good for the ones who do not have the games yet. I own both Munch and Stranger for PS3.
When New 'N' Tasty gets released I want to get it for PC (STEAM) and later I will try to get it for PS3.
It would seem to be the case. Spring 2014 it is then. I wonder why it has been delayed, it was slated for a holiday season release this year, wasn't it?

I am a bit disappointed since I wanted to get 2 copies of it during christmas sale when it's a bit cheaper for myself and also as a Christmas gift. Well I guess I will wait since it's to make a game better right? It's better to delay it than to rush it and make it less good.

We can hope.
Also, while I would much rather have a new Oddworld game, is anyone interested in an Abe's Exodus remake. It would look quite nice next to Abe's Oddysee: New N' Tasty. Perhaps it could be titled Abe's Exodus: <insert Soulstorm Brew pun here>.
I don't have any ideas on what it could be titled, thus the insert exists.

Wow, what a great trailer but... delayed to Spring 2014? Damn, I had hope of being able to play it in Christmas holidays. Maybe things were not really ready yet.
I guess I'll have to content myself with Pokémon X if I am lucky enough.

I vote yes because new generation deserves Exodus as well.

Here are some ridiculous titles I thought of for an Abe's Exodus remake:
Oddworld: Thinned Brew
Oddworld: New Concoction
Oddworld: Fresh Brew
Oddworld: Cold N' Foamy
Oddworld: Full Glass
Oddworld: Well Fermented

There should be a contest made by Oddworld Inhabitants where people submit their title idea for Exodus remake and people vote.
