Unfortunately, I didn't record the final Combo in CF3. For some reason, that specific part with the IPG doesn't seem to mix well with Bandicam's software... I couldn't get past a certain point in the Combo without the game crashing and the footage getting lost in the process. On the weekend, I can look up if I have any recordings left that show the most critical parts of that Combo, in which case you can probably figure out the rest on your own, but I wouldn't get my hopes up as I tend to delete unsuccessful attempts right away.
I can also give recording another shot; I switched out my graphics card, so I could try and see if that makes any difference.
Or I guess worst case I'll just record the Combo, but without the IPG active and you'll just have to trust me that it works that way
Great to hear that you have a lot of stuff to look into. I should definitely be available until 10:30 pm tomorrow, anything later is probably gonna be a problem though. If you don't mind "wasting" your spare time like that though, I'm more than up for joining you on other days as well. Any excuse to get a bit more into R3 again is welcome. All up to you

I don't know where we left off in TOTL, but 120k sounds quite nice; looking forward to seeing that.

Yet another problem with Bandicam...

Have you tried the screen recording mode already; maybe this might help? At least the data usually won't get corrupted that way, if the game crashes.
Otherwise I think a video of the combo without the IPG should do as well, as far as I am concerned.

EDIT: Ah I see what's happening here. The y scaling is all screwed up due to the aspect ratio. I had the exact problem on Xbox trying to patch it for widescreen. I'll look into this.

Oh this is perfect, since this is the level I'm planning to improve on next and I had actually asked about it a few days ago (I checked the most important combos already and have practiced a little but no dice yet..)

OK so windows is very different and it seems to be controlled outside of the executable. Looks like the reason Ribshark's BR3 fixes it is because d3d8.dll is loading the custom DLL file BetterRayman3.dll.
Even without any patches though discord doesn't even say I'm playing Rayman 3. I wonder is it to do with DirectX8.
EDIT: Well now I feel dumb. On Discord I was able to just press add game so it now knows Rayman 3 is a game. Does bandicam have an option like that? I've never used it before myself since I like OBS. Only problem is Rayman 3 has it's problems because the process gets paused when exiting it. Maybe if there was a way to make the game continue in the background then this wouldn't happen. I think it's literally suspending the Rayman 3 process.

Thanks for your efforts, Steo!
I don't think that you can add games to Bandicam as on Discord. Usually it automatically recognizes pretty much every game you're playing. Without the patch it also recognizes R3. Unfortunately with the patch it doesn't.
If you've still got some ideas left, I'll gladly try them out.

I'll see if I can figure it out. I might try bandicam in the morning and play around with it. I know it's got something to do with d3d8.dll because that's what the game uses for patching. I'm guessing you get no cutscenes too with your game manually set to 720p
Edit: I wonder with the patch installed, if it would work with the directx 8 to 9 setting as 1 (0 is default) in the d3d8.ini file. I must try that out and see if it makes bandicam detect it.

Okay, got a little bit confused with my last two posts, so third time's a charm
I recalculated the 2nd part of TOTL and the maximum score is actually 123.169 points with my new final combo. However, since the entire Hoodflyer-combo at the top of the tower is pretty much pants (all 7 of them are included into the final combo), we actually need a bunch more points in the 1st and 2nd part before we can even reach the 93.369 points that are required before the final combo.

As you can see, this would have worked out if I didn't miss the shot on the Hoodflyer for no reason. Also, there's still some time to make up with more optimal Elite Hoodmonger-kills. The crucial part is the jump to the wooden platform which allows us to include 3 extra gems, since the Hoodflyer that appears once you return to the first room should be taken with the secret room anyway.
All time problems with the Lockjaw could be eliminated if you just leave out the stairs and instead play this:

This might actually yield some extra-points, since this way you're also able to include one of the piggybanks with a x5-multiplier. However, taking the 2 yellow gems in the very back and then returing to the Hoodlums in time is tricky, so I'll be working on that next, combined with some other stuff in the 2nd big room.
Also since some peope still have trouble with the IPG in TOTL part 2, I reuploaded my original video from the stone age in better quality:

This right here would be the big advantage of a discord-server BTW. I'm right now discovering tons of older TOTL1-videos and all of them somewhat interfere with the gems they require to be taken, and discussing micro-optimizations like that is a real pain in the ass without instant messages

That's cool! A couple of months ago, I found a small improvement (~300 Points, I believe? Maybe a bit more) myself, so maybe we can get something going.
Taking the staircase the same way as in the link you posted doesn't work for the optimal version. I'm on mobile atm so I can't be bothered to link it, but 1234 has a vid up which shows how to get the most out of the final Hoodstormer. Basically, you start of the classical way and then, after killing the Stormer, you SJ into the secret room to combo as many items as possible.
Oh well, I guess we can touch on that in the evening. Looking forward to the stream <3

OK I came up with a fix for Bandicam here after experimenting. Install Better Rayman 3 then set it to 1080p (or whatever your monitors native resolution is) and use this
Rayman 3 Bandicam Fix
Just extract the files to your Rayman 3 install directory overwriting the other files. Let me know how that works out for you
If it doesn't work for you, just let me know what the problem is. The DXWrapper.ini is set to Fullscreen = 1 so if you want to use windowed mode just set that to 0.
It's d3d8 that was causing the problem as expected, this is another DXWrapper version of it that is set to use RibSharks BetterRayman3.dll still but also uses d3d8 to d3d9 and Bandicam detects it
EDIT: being the eejit I am I had forgotten a couple of dll's. I've added them to the zip file now. This also makes the game get picked up as DX9.
EDIT 2: I can confirm it 100% works and records at 60fps for me (I set Bandicam to record at 60fps as a test) and since it shows as DX9 now, peoples GPU software might actually have an effect on the game. Usually it just ignores you. I also feel like it's not as sluggish between exiting and entering the game so maybe this also works better for Windows 10.

Your hint to look at the d3d8.ini helped a lot. All you have to do is change D3d8to9 to 1. So, you actually don't need all the extra files you gave me.
However, just so you know, I tried your method as well and it worked fine, too. So, good job and thanks!

Oh right, well that was my first idea, but it still wouldn't work in my case. I had to use the newer dll which uses dxwrapper but im glad that just changing the 0 to 1 worked for you
I'd advise others to try that first too but if it doesn't work then use the other files. I had to use them in my case anyway but my game works fine now. I'm on windows 10 by the way.

I'll need to try out those fixes for Bandicam when I switch to my Windows 10 laptop.

As for me, have to continue practicing the FC. I only pulled off the 3 matuvu combo once, and it took HOURS.

For those who are interested, I've recorded the tricks I mentioned ~2 weeks ago (
video). The video also shows the SJ in LOTLD3, which I've actually already uploaded yesterday. However, this time you can see the problem with the red gem as well.
In future I'll try to record all the potentially useful ideas, glitches etc. I'll find, and upload kind of compilations of it. That's probably more useful than just trying to explain the findings.
Since I think it'd be quite convenient to have a sorted R3 video list, I'll upload one soon. However, I won't put it on the Wiki yet as it'd take quite a long time to make it look somewhat adequate. So, if possible, don't make more than 10 posts on the next page (unless you don't want me to post the list), and sorry for tenfold posting in advance.

Hi guys. I was listening to The Beatles on vinyl record and hating Bruno Mars as usual when my mum walked in and said wow you seem really good at Rayman 3 and I told her get the fuck out of my room I hate you but thought I should sign up here. Is this score okay?
I can maybe do better when I find the rest of the cages as soon as my stupid parents let me play. They never let me do anything ffs >:(

I finally brought my Win10 laptop to the repair shop, so when I get it back I can start practicing on the PC version of Rayman 3!

Same, I usually use Win10, but had to switch to a Win8 laptop when the laptop screen got cracked and plasma started leaking. Yuck.
