Re: Best Videogame System
It'll come next generation and no one's going to really care anymore...I put up with tons of useless stuff like this the two or three months or so that I was at the GameSpot forums, then I just ended up leaving.

Re: Best Videogame System
And re-PC gaming, if you don't like the keyboard and mouse, buy a gamepad. It's as simple as that.
Personally, I'm all for anything besides the Wii at the moment. :\ Oh, sure, it's not gimmicky at all!
There's already enough party games in existence that are designed to make your arm fall off!

Re: Best Videogame System
I was just playing Quake II--I still love that classic stuff.
Re: Best Videogame System
Yeah, I got it on Steam recently.
To be honest though, this generation is great in terms of multi-platform games. Orange Box and Bioshock (coming to PS3 as well now) are great examples of that.

Re: Best Videogame System
I'm through with arguing. I have done so on several occasions, and I don't feel the need to engage myself in another war with mindless fanboys like Spiraldoor. The Xbox 360 is in my opinion the best game console on the market today, although a high end PC will always be better than any game console (you are wrong, spiraldoor, the PS3's processing power is certainly nowhere near the power of an Intel quad core processor).Joshua822 wrote:Arguments please ?Xbox 360 easily owns all.
Just one little thing (I can't resist, can I?
I will not comment this further because, like I said, I'm done with boonish console wars.

Well, note that Intel Quad Cores are expensive and you don't get full benefit of the four cores for now. And why o why is everyone talking about Nvidia, all people that folow the news in the video card world know that ATi kicked Nvidia's chip really hard this summer, with the HD 4xxx series, the GTX 260/280 are just attempts from Nvidia to overwin the beast known as the HD 4870 x2 (i would die for that one XD)
PC Gaming will always be the best, but for now, the Wii is almost as good thanks to it's revolutionary gameplay, but we all know that this will come on PC to
Then, there are many great console exclusive games that are really great. I'm a huge Nintendo fan and i don't want to miss Super Mario Galaxy. And the console has one great point, games work right out of the box, no install (and patching if you're running Vista or configuring if you're using Wine) needed

Re: Best Videogame System
Sorry, this makes no sense for two reasons:The keyboard was never designed for games, note the complate absence of analog sticks.
1)PC Games were designed for keyboard.
2)Analog sticks aren't anyway better than arrows, at least in my opinion. I remember I played with PS2 owner on my PC, I used keyboard, he used my pad (a'la DualShock). His character acted as drunk.
I understand that is harder to press a lot of buttons on a keybopard, than on a gamepad. But this doesn't change another things.
Sega what? SMS? MD/GEN? SAT? DC?StaceyW wrote:I hate all that console war shit. Fuck it, I still play on my old Sega.

The question which system is more powerful, X360 or PS3, is a very big problem. PS3 has 2 PPC threads and 7 SPU threads (including system), X360 has 6 optimised PPC threads (including system). This can currently mean everything - depending on data you are processing.
Re: Best Videogame System
The PS3 is more powerfull then the 360, then again, the 360 is already 3 years old. For now, the whole power of the PS3 can't be benefited.
Well, you can't say wheter the gamepad or the keyboard is better, it's your opinion
I have to agree with Stacey that i prefer classic games tough

Re: Best Videogame System
Yesss, there was something int hese games that doesn't appear in most of new ones.
Time for repeat - depends on how do you work with your software. Most of programmers are already familiar with typical CPU multithreading, which means it is harder for them to write fast programs for PS3 than for X360.Joshua822 wrote:The PS3 is more powerfull then the 360

Re: Best Videogame System
The PS3 is currently using a tiny 20% of its processing power, and it still outstrips 360, to the point the developers of MGS4 chose to make it PS3 exclusive, as developing it for 360 would just drag it down. The PS3 has the capability to perform FIVE times better than it currently does, and when it does it will utterly blow away and PC game. Compare it to the 360, which is using 80% of its power, nearly its full potential.
80% of the 360 is still less powerful than 20% of the PS3.
Not to mention the 360's DVD ROM only holds 9 GB, while the PS3's Blu-Ray Discs can hold up to 50 GB.
You can continue to flail pointlessly against the PS3's awesome might, but your struggles will be ineffectual.
I know you'll all hate me now, but, who cares?

You fanboy twat. You have no idea what you're talking about, do you? Your figures are wrong and your attitude is making me vomit! If it was up to me, you'd be banned, and I hope somebody with the power to do it agrees with me.spiraldoor wrote:The PS3 is currently using a tiny 20% of its processing power, and it still outstrips 360, to the point the developers of MGS4 chose to make it PS3 exclusive, as developing it for 360 would just drag it down. At least close this thread. Please? This forum doesn't need a fanboy war thread like this.

I thought we would've just been stating our favorite console and why we like it, though he really just wanted a fanboy argument over "mi konsul iz WAI butter then ur konsul."
And he ignored it because it's hopeless to get something like this through most fanboys' heads, so why bother?

Re: Best Videogame System
It is not true that developers still use only 20% of PS3. I think, it is currently about 70%.
Initial idea was good, so you're wrong in my opinion.Tobbe7 wrote:At least close this thread. Please? This forum doesn't need a fanboy war thread like this.

This is certainly not a good day for some of us as far as arguments are concerned.
Tobbe and Spiral, I strongly suggest that you pack this up right now!
