Mini Janos

Jesus, those guys scare the hell out of me, especially in The Sanctuary Of Stone And Fire, did you know they could grab you then kill you in The Cave Of Bad Dreams (And maybe The Sanctuary Of Stone And Fire in the PS1 version, I can't find out since I don't have the game right now)? If your health is almost at zero (The beeping and one hit and your dead), and they grab and kill you, you will not get the Try Again screen and will start again at the ledge before the fight with them for some reason (The designers probably didn't expect you to get a game over/try again from that, probably).

I didnt know that. When they aren't in the camera view but you can hear them bouncing around it's just freaky, and suddenly they pounce at you out of nowhere.

Its pointless to keep this topic up, as it never gets posts and its a waste of space.

Well, why wouldn't this cause "try again"?! Isn't mini-Jano running Rayman's "less-health" subroutine? And if so, why?

I don't know, it just causes you to start again at the ledge before the Mini Janos with no Try Again screen and half of your health. (And you recollect the green lum for some reason)

Well...What's the Difference to Mini Janos from TGE? Do you know?

The difference is that they have more health, but are less of them. There are also two in The Sanctuary Of Stone And Fire in the PS1 version instead of 1, and they act like regular Mini Janos (Except they don't go underground and are always staring at you, very creepily :o )

It never happened to me, do you think it's also in the PC version?

Same here.

But the ''No Try Again sign'' thing didn't happen to me.

It reminds me of Resident Evil 4, in which enemies are able to perform special attacks when you are almost dead.

I still think Mini Janos are nightmares based on DomZified Plums :hap:

Rather than the product of the laziness or lack of time of video game developers who recycled the model from another enemy? :hap:

Well, Mini Janos existed when the DomZ were still probably some vague concept in Michel's mind (and mixed up with Nazh I guess), so I'm not sure…
