I always got pirated games when i had a PS1.
There was this strange stupid glitch which when i go into the air balloon it takes me to the last warp room, only one room worked and it was a water level, but when i touched ground it froze and took me to the last fight.

He's in Skylanders now. I read nice reviews about the game, but too bad that for being able to fully experience the game a person must count by burping away about 300€.

As a kid Spyro The Dragon used to be one of my favourite games alongside Rayman. Its such a shame to see what Activision has done with him.
I might pick up Skylanders when the price drops though. and I mean when it drops. The olny reason activsion made it " THE TOYZ ARE DA VYDIA GAMEZ" is so that kids would have to cough up an extra 20 bucks so they could get another caracter in the game.

We already had a Spyro topic, so I've merged the new topic into it. Please use the seach function before creating new topics to check if we already have a topic on the same subject. If we do, use that one instead of creating a new one.

Oh, Skylanders. What a mixed bag it is. I hear it's a genuinely good game, it's just too bad it costs so much just to play as a different character. I would probably get it if it were cheaper and put more of a focus on Spyro.
Although in theory you could play the whole game with one character, right?

Yeah I'm pretty shure you can play as one character for the whole game but I don't see why activision couldin't just make it that if you wanted to swicth a character you just did it in game instead of having platform with a bunch of toys everywhere that are bound to get lost depending on what type of kid had the game. The rest of the characters could be DLC or something.
I do like the fact that the save file is in the toy though, thats pretty convenient.

I think the concept of Skylanders is interesting, but I dislike the fact that Spyro is kinda being used to sell it.
It's bad enough that the Bandicoot is dead, but at least he's not being butchered like this.

The concept of Skylanders - "separately sold plastic characters" - was something I came up with before I heard about it (not saying it's a rip-off obviously) - but after some thinking, I have concluded that this would not sell unless you would sell "medals" of characters, being cheaper and more stylish. Well, we'll see the finance reports later, but I guess I was wrong.

Same here. I wonder if Skylanders would sell in the same way with the absence of him and Cynder.
I just find shocking how expensive can the game become if someone wants to collect all the figures. 8€ each one, ooooouch...

I'm sure someone would come up with something to bypass this...
If you think about it, the concept is a bit like Anti-Piracy, pirates will need to buy the game for "the Portal of Power" and figures, so they can't just download the game, unless someone came up with a bypass to the portal of power.
