"Rayman" version differences

Let's just take a thread to note all the version variations and discuss them, since there are a lot of oddball differences it seems between platform, region, and even re-releases.
On another note, I got Rayman for my Japanese Sega Saturn today, and I was able to note some differences there. For example, the intro is completely gone, likely due to the fact that they're a French company and probably couldn't find anyone to do any Japanese dubbing. Another big difference was the Eat at Joe's level, where it is actually tinted yellow. There are some different transition effects applied to the level images (the ones before you enter a new area). Instead of just a rolling up effect, there's also water rippling, spinning and flying towards a vanishing point in the screen center, square tiles dropping to the bottom, and a pretty cool glass breaking one.
An alternate intro sequence was in this one too, which occurs at the Start screen. First, Rayman's hands walk across from right to left, then add the torso and have him bounce back over, then add the feet and have him walk to the middle, realize his head is missing, then sprint off the screen. His head appears next, though without his hair (which is flying as he tries to catch it). Finally, fully put together, he comes back to the middle and poses.
So far, those are the only changes I've seen, though there might be more. There's numerous other versions though, so we can evaluate them all here in one thread.

Are these differences between the Saturn and PS1? Because what's really interesting to me is that a lot of these things are in the PC version...
Well, there is an intro video, but Eat at Joes is still tinted yellow.

Yes, I remember a lot of those things from my version of Rayman 1 too, which was a PC-version.

Actually, I've seen a YouTube video of a Japanese dubbed intro to the Saturn version of Rayman 1. So your copy is missing it for some reason.

This one appears in lots of versions - PC and Jaguar ones, I think.
Another thing that I can note is a lot of effects in PC version applied to the "world" image (one which was used in PS version in time of loading tiles and sprites, I think, and before every loading of level (not a segment) in GBA and PC versions.
GBA version has obviously more HP and no first level at Bong Hills. Note this level is another on PC versions than on PS1 and Jaguar versions.
In Jaguar version, there's a lot of funny text ("ACTION!", "GAME OVER"), but it's missing sliding and roll-jump, what causes major changes in level design.
In case of mosquitoes... you know.
On PS1 version I played, "cabbages" (lily flowers, thing that acts as cloud) are red if small.

The PC version is the only one I know that had voices other than the intro. Which of course, had pretty bad quality because of it being a DOS game, when I tried to record them I had to pitch up Rayman's voices to match the pitch of the "No Problem" line.
Also Tarayzan sound creepy.

Oops, I thought you were talking about Rayman games in general, not only Rayman 1.

Hmm...I was actually talking Japanese Sega Saturn vs. Greatest Hits North American PlayStation version. The latter doesn't even have that thing at the start screen, it only has music. Eat at Joe's had the same visibility, though there was no special tinting and it had normal color. And my mistake on the intro video. There was one, though it only plays when you start a new game instead of repeating before the player presses Start.
So it seems like my Greatest Hits (that's like Platinum to the PAL region), North American (NTSC|U/C), PlayStation copy of the game is strangely the one with all the weird differences...I'm actually pretty surprised, because I'd expect a Japanese version to differ like that.
And also, the Saturn game has stage transitions--none of those on the other. Plus, the game is completely in English past the intro video (not even the menus).
NEW: The second part of Anguish Lagoon has completely different looking scenery (same comparison). The PlayStation version had essentially the same scenery as what came before the section, this looks more like later in the Dream Forest.
There are also numerous sound differences, often times music usage.
The first part of Bongo Hills is also the same as the PlayStation version.

The first part of Bongo Hills and the Moskito's Nest level just before you fight Moskito use completely different tiles in the DOS version. The former is grassy and the latter is on odd tree trunks in the water.

Is that just the DOS version? That should be noted in Bongo Hill's RayWiki entry, because right now it says that the standard Band Land look is exclusive to the PlayStation.

The first Bongo Hills level in the Jaguar version is the same as in the PS1 version. I'm not sure about the Saturn one though, but I think it's the same as the PS1/Jag version.

My Saturn game was the same as my PlayStation game, and that wouldn't vary by region. So really it's the grassy part that's exclusive and the slidey part that's on most. I'll change that then...tomorrow, hehe.
So really, it seems like my one version is actually an oddball release between the tons of little different things in it. (Greatest Hits NTSC PlayStation) Anyone else note other odd differences, this one or really between any others? The tinting I also noted again last night--it's purple in the thunderstorm stage of Bongo Hills (Saturn), though there still wasn't any of that in my other version--just lowered brightness. There's even music and sound differences.

I have heard that Greatest Hits edition has many changes made to it which made it different than original PS1 version, however I'm not sure about it...

According to a PS1 cheat book I have, cheats may not work in the Platinum version of the game.
In my non-Platinum PAL version, the thunderstorm level in Bongo Hills is indeed darker than the other levels.

There's one minor difference in GBA version, in first segment of 3rd level of Band Land (Gong Heights?) - as ther is no "Big Ball Monk" object, it's replaced with "Chain of Balls Monk". I hope it's clear.

...portable. But it was quite good port, compared to what developers did with Sonic Genesis, or Rayman DS.
