I do love games that have seasonal references, it isn't usually a big thing but it is a nice detail.

Yeah - anything, really. Like in Black and White, when it's April Fool's, the Creature's footsteps get replaced by smiley faces. It's not much, but it's fun enough and details like that make you smile when you find them.

Heh, I also joined because of RotD
(I'm referring to P-wolf's appearances a few pages back) More power to you, Ad!
Anyway, the strafing animation is just perfect; It's so dynamic! Multiplayer in Rayman M style sounds simply awesome as well (and gives me more music to look forward to!
Rayman's theme is bound to be interesting! )
A level editor as well... So much awesome this week!
P.S.
I'm excited for the upcoming soundtrack part! :3

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark [STRESSTEST DOWNLOAD]
That's an interesting idea, though if anything I'd end up figuring it out at the very end.
Also, upon Danone's request, I've made some sheets for the Menu Opening theme. Here they are if anyone else is interested as well:
(Piano audio file: http://www.mediafire.com/?ch3b22m53wh7s0a) - Keep in mind that the recording there and the sheet music are only about 99% the exact same. There are a couple spots where it varies slightly, such as using fuller chords at times or playing more notes during the unmetred line at the end.

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark [STRESSTEST DOWNLOAD]
*looks at bar 44. Whhhaaaat the hell is that. xD
Why are the crossbars ('tever the name is in English) ramping 'up' from a single point to their full height? The triangular shape looks... strange. Not bad, just strange.
Also, I had this idea in my head that maybe, just maybe, if my orchestra can play my own piece well enough and there's time left, I could feed them one of your pieces, if you like. I had Mount Kollapso's chase theme (your fav #2) in mind. Don't have orchestral bells though. I'd need to find something for that.

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark [STRESSTEST DOWNLOAD]
It means 'from slow to as fast as possible.' I actually first learned about it three years ago when studying Alexina Louie's Distant Memories:Shrooblord wrote:*looks at bar 44. Whhhaaaat the hell is that. xD

Though mine has seven beams (English) instead of three due to the technical difficulty of beams grouping themselves into beats. You see, in order for me to make that note string fit into the bar and appear entirely unmetred (having all the notes group together), I had to set the time signature to 1/8 for just that bar and write out 64 512th notes.
The bass cleff notes were actually originally in a separate bar of 5/4, played in eighth notes with removed stems. I then photoshopped that onto the empty bass cleff of bar 44 so it could again appear unmetred.
-- Also, if anyone's unsure, those three beams stretching between the octaves in the bass cleff that happens twice in the first page indicates a tremolo between the two notes.
Really? That would be awesome if possible! You're also in luck, because I was already in the motion of scoring out Race of a Legendary Misconception.Shrooblord wrote:Also, I had this idea in my head that maybe, just maybe, if my orchestra can play my own piece well enough and there's time left, I could feed them one of your pieces, if you like. Yeah, no I really like it. Those strings' melody just sticks in my head for so long... I wonder how I'd arrange this for a band with a brass section, a western concert flute and an acoustic guitar (those are instruments playing in mine). I'll see if there's time left!

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark [STRESSTEST DOWNLOAD]
Interesting group of instruments, I can think of a few good ways to do this though. The bass line I suppose could be played by the guitar, the brass could play the choir/backing strings that come in during the epic midsection, the flute could play the strings and piano melodies.
Really though, that's a very strange mix.

Don't forget I also have strings.
But yes, that would sound a bit funky... also, I have drums (me) in case that helps.
My full orchestra:
3 violins;
1 vioncello;
1 electric bass;
1 trombone;
2 trumpets (don't know how they're tuned);
1 altosaxophone;
1 (acoustic) guitar;
1 western concert flute;
1 wackjob on the drums;
someone using the glockenspiel when they're not playing their 'own' instrument.

Right, that's becauseAdsolution wrote:Y u call it disShrooblord wrote:vioncello
De cello (kort voor violoncello) (Dutch)
and
Il violoncello (Italian)
So I never stopped to think that it could be different in English. Language is fun.
EDIT:
And because of typo, I said 'vioncello' as opposed to 'violoncello'...

Hey good recreation! I like it, impatient to see the final version!

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark [STRESSTEST DOWNLOAD]
Good!
Interesting how many characters ROTD will have in final version

Dat teeths hahaha.
I think it's due to the sotware in which you took the screenshot, but this hunter looks too "shiny" for me.
Will you add some bullets on his belt in the final version of it (i guess it's far away from it's final version, not as the Zombie Chicken
) ?

Given that you've got characters hailing from all over the series, do you think they can be presented consistently, and not look out of place when put next to each other?

The shading has no applicability, as this is a render from 3ds Max, not the engine.saerleiya wrote:I think it's due to the sotware in which you took the screenshot, but this hunter looks too "shiny" for me.
There are three big bullets already in his belt, based off this image:saerleiya wrote:Will you add some bullets on his belt in the final version of it (i guess it's far away from it's final version, not as the Zombie Chicken) ?
They actually do work together quite nicely, as almost every character has a fairly unique design in a way.Master4lyf1 wrote:Given that you've got characters hailing from all over the series, do you think they can be presented consistently, and not look out of place when put next to each other?
