The conceptual stages are complete, nonetheless ever-progressing. Even during production, things that were conceived beforehand are changing slightly, mostly as my 'artistic vision' evolves over time. As for how far we are in production-wise, we're still buckling down on working on Rayman's mechanics and the camera system, as well as modelling all the Dream Forest assets.

The script is not fully down on paper yet, despite being completed in my head. It's mostly due to the transcription and filing in the details being a time-consuming project.

Can I voice act if I find a good microphone?

If you can do a voice that greatly fits a member of our cast of colourful characters, then I suppose I can't refuse. My expectations are not low, however.

How many voice actors are needed and for what characters if I am allowed to ask and is there a list of them somewhere?

Not really any confirmed list, no. There are a couple set in place, such as me doing Rayman, Dark Rayman, the Magician, Rhook and Polokus, Rayfist doing Moskito, Eshap doing Raven, and Gwee might be doing Ly (still under deliberation), but voice acting aside from some of Rayman's locomotive grunts (which I've already done) isn't a remote necessity right now. Later on once storyboards and cutscenes are being showcased, then perhaps.

I've actually considered contacting Michael Shapiro, the voice actor of the G-Man, for Polokus. If you take a listen, Polokus' gibberish voice and the G-Man sound almost identical.

He's not exactly a huge-name voice actor. Just because one of his characters is really popular doesn't make him more expensive. Not that I have any idea how much that would be, but it's an idea.

This is my first ever attempt at modelling a human-esque face:

For the fairies, I'm guessing?

Given what I know about 3D graphics, you're in for sheer hell, what with miniscule facial features and the like. But, regardless, I have faith that you can do it well.

Looks like a good start. The hair is the hardest part for me. Modeling my own character was easy enough until I started modeling his hair... good luck for that :)

If you do a shoddy job (e.g. texturing a "hair dome"), then it's easy. If you're making actual hair... fuck.

A particular obvious fairy, yep.

It's more fun than it is hell, or challenging for that matter. It just takes a long time, given that you pretty much have to draw every polygon one at a time to have it shape up the way you want.

Well, making a good-looking "hair dome" isn't easy either, since it requires many layers and well-placed ornaments. Modelling a face is moreorless methodical and straightforward if you have a grasp of anatomy, whereas creating good-looking hair requires much thought to have it turning out right.

Thanks. I'll post an update of the model shortly, it's much nicer to look at now than it was yesterday.

EDIT:

Here we go:

I haven't beat Rayman 2 and haven't played Rayman 3 at all, so I was just checking. No need to be rude about it.
