No one's being rude about it...?

Anyway, I've finished the entire model. I won't show anything more until it's textured though.

Hello Everyone!
I'm new to this abusively long thread and I must say, the game's looking tremendous!

Multiplayer's something I've definitely considered, though it would moreso be an afterthought, as the sole priority right now is the main game.

If it were to exist, its intention would be to act as a successor to Arena, albeit much expanded upon and improved. It would probably be a lot faster-paced, which would also allow for tactical combat and more intense racing situations. I haven't put a lot of thought into it, but I'm definitely considering it if time will allow.

You're actually considering that? Hah, cool! I didn't expect to get such a detailed reply to a lame joke!
I spotted this back in 2010, and for some time I thought it was dead. But I was wrong, you're just getting started fo reelz! (Or something like that)
I am looking forward to hear more about the game, and remember;
DON'T. BE. LIKE. ME.
Trust me, I never finish anything, and this is rather ambitious. So yeah! :hinhinhin:

Sorry. I was kind of grumpy when I made that post, mostly due to my parents nagging me incessantly about an incredibly easy test that I had to do later today.

I also have insecurities about my not playing Rayman 2.

Then play it, it's quite a quick game to get through, probably the shortest out of all the Raymans, and it's one golden thing you'll never regret.

Dreamcast or PS2? I've been playing the PS2 version, since I own the original hardware, but I've heard the Dreamcast one is better.

I wish Bluepoint would make HD ports of R2/3. That would be great. Perhaps R1 could be released on there as well, if they slapped a filter on it, but I suppose we'll leave it to your remake. ;)

I'd recommend the Dreamcast version be played first, since Revolution is obviously changed up quite a bit, and it's usually best to have the original be the first thing that comes to your mind when you think and discuss 'Rayman 2'.

I'll try to grab an emulator. ;)

Or just play the PC version!

I don't know how well the Dreamcast version emulates since I just play it on my Dreamcast, but the improved shading is what really does it for me, despite the Hall of Doors being replaced with the much less atmospheric Isle of Doors. It adds that extra layer of mysticism and depth to every scene in the game, whereas everything looks slightly flatter in the other versions.

Mind you, nothing beats the PC's Hall of Doors for me. The Hall of Doors, and oddly enough, The Canopy, are two of the things that really define Rayman 2 for me, and scenes such as the area where you rescue Globox, where you're standing on the mushrooms growing off these incredibly tall, tall trees with only brown, blurry tree silhouettes visible in the background I found to be absolutely breathtaking, and I hope to replicate that exact environment in ROTD at some point, likely in the Valley of Illusion.

Also, isn't the Dreamcast version the only one that runs at 60FPS. (Well, I suppose anything's better than the PlayStation version, the only original version of Rayman 2 I own. :P )

Mmhh. Classy...

Damn creating characters for video games looks hard.

I prefer playing tham than creating.

Heh.
I've frankly bought way too many versions of Rayman 2...
Yes, I confess to owning the 3DS version...

It's the only version that runs at a constant 60 FPS. The PC version runs at 60 by default, though will switch to 30 in more intense areas or situations. I'm not sure whether that's done through a detection system or if it's hardcoded into certain areas.
