I'd suggest a combination between souris (mouse) and verte (green). But we'll have to see if the combination works. But IMO, Souris works fine for me.

Actually, that really works well!

Edit: Unfortunately, I'm having problems with Ly's model again. I'll PM you about it, Ad.

Awww what a cute little thing. I'm excited to see all this attention for the little unnoticables in this game - it shows love for detail, yes, not attention, love.

But I still want to play around in that testing grounds area. xP

Hm, it still sounds obscure. Lackin's a really catchy and clever-enough name, we need that for our species.

I'd honestly really just like to hear about all the little creatures you guys want to put in the game.

And on the Ly model, the only thing I have to add is that she seems a bit too short. She was at least twice the size of Rayman in R2.

Well, this game takes place before R2, when Rayman first met Ly. So, she is supposed to be a little short.

Hah. So Ly is still somewhat younger, almost like a kid-fairy? I like that.

Not exactly a kid, though definitely younger in appearance and personality than in Rayman 2. Sort of like an older teenager or someone in their early-20s.

One suggestion I would make would be to make the Magician a bit uncomfortable around people, showing he has social issues.
I would saw it looks nice and might be a fun game. But when it is finished, I might wait what everyone else thinks. so i know if I should get it.

I'm not going to say no, or yes for that matter, since it isn't really made clear, and it isn't important either. There is a somewhat sentimental relationship between the two, though this could even more likely be attributed to Raven being the only other limbless being he's ever come across.
I think it could be interesting to develop something like a romantic relationship between characters. My personal favorite was always Rayman + Ly and Dark Rayman and Raven because it just denies that cliché that jump'n'run heroes have to have a female partner which almost shares the same characteristics like them. It's a great way nonetheless but it shouldn't be exaggerated. I think when Dark Rayman is introduced as a serious character who is some kind of accursed to do the things he does (enslaving, tyranny and that kind of evil stuff) Raven could be the secret counterpart, his final salvation and maybe a love interest. It would show that the world in Rayman is not strictly black and white and that even the seemingly worst nightmares can transform like a thundercloud can turn into "normal" ones. Some hints into this direction can do a lot to the overall immersion, like in that great concept pictures for Rayman 2 (http://raymanpc.com/wiki/en/File:RaymanLy001.jpg and http://raymanpc.com/wiki/en/File:RLRomance.jpg). It doesn't have to be that explicit but some additional allusions may seem fine to me. But I do not know the overall story details, it's just my point of view. I know that there are maybe others who may not like these ideas, so I just share mine with yours.

Overall I think a mixture between the well-known goofyness and seriousness of the previous Rayman games may do a pretty happy medium.

For the current model of Ly I agree with the others, the head seems a little bit too oversized and some parts of the face could be rearranged. The idea to make her shorter and younger in appearance sounds like a neat idea, very well thought out.
Adsolution wrote:Ahah, I'll say it again, I love that little bell on the end of its tail!

Given that Souris literally means Mouse in French, we'll probably come up with something more creative, like we did with the Lackin, the little bunny creature (Lapin + Lac-Mac).

Wow, I really like those concepts. They really show the passion to recreate a whole universe of the wonders and magics in Rayman's world. Great!

Well, about the name maybe something like Squeener, Scratchnaps, Scratchlacks or Scratchnecks... Frog-like creatures could be named Quinchmogs/Squinchmogs, Munchins/Munchintoads or something like that. It just came into my mind. :)

While the story is very developed already, there certainly is still room for that kind of thing. I'd never considered the idea of Dark Rayman possibly having a thing for Raven, however, I think in concurrence with the way the story currently plays out, if he did, that could possibly just happen to make one of the current final scenes in the game actually very impactful and emotional, which I'm all for; it's not contrived or love-based either, because that isn't even how it was originally intended. But of course if these things were to exist, they would be left up to mere allusions, as I don't favour the idea of resorting to fanfiction-esque clichés, at least not explicitly. Rayman games have never been overly complicated or drenched in thick text, and I don't want that to be the case here either, however, I do want to bring a higher level of narrative than what's been seen previously in the games. With that in mind though, it's all about condensing these ideas down into a coherent and relatively simple, yet progressive, layered and entrancing story.

Also, Ly has been fixed and looks much better now.

Also #2, nice names! Perhaps I may use some of those, or similar.

Though it WOULD make sense if Dark Rayman had a crush on Raven; he's the dark epitome of Rayman. So if Rayman is in LOVE with Raven, then Dark Rayman would LUST after her; having all of Raymans bad attributes and all.

Have you in mind the music/food themed world in Rayman origins and legends? You should restyle Band Land, picture city and Candy chateau in that way, or at least this what I would do if I was developing the game

Btw I'm very looking forward to this!

Please let me know if this was already explained before, but if Rayman and Raven are the only limbless people in the game, then how is Betilla going to look? Will she be using magic to make herself limbless like the Magician or will she look like that pointless eye candy in Origins (no offense!) ?

Or maybe I'm asking the wrong question. Have the events of Rayman 1 actually happened? As in, does the Valley of the Limbless actually exist in this game and Rayman has ventured away from it, or is it like Rayman 2 where the concept of the Valley was completely abandoned and forgotten about?

Well, like said, that isn't necessarily the case with Rayman and Raven. But if they were, then that would make sense.

No food-themed world. However, a restyled Band Land and Picture City do show up.

In this, the five Origins nymphs are Betilla's five daughters, including 'Betilla Jr', though she's only referred to as.Betilla (they're only pretty much babies in this game, with younger Betilla being the only one who can talk so far). I want to redesign all the limbless characters so as to have limbs, older Betilla included, but we're still working on that.

Additionally, the Valley is portrayed as a remote island in this game, off the shore of the Glade's mainland. The game begins in the Valley, after the first few levels, Rayman steps onto the Glade's mainland for the very first time.
