Rayman Pirate-Community

Hey there!

I was wondering, does anybody have any old magazines with articles about Rayman 1?
It'd be interesting to see. There would probably be some beta screenshots and interviews with Michel Ancel too.

Also, someone told me yesterday that he read an interview with Michel Ancel in an old edition of EDGE Magazine. Apparently, Michel Ancel said that he based Rayman 1's story on an old French fairy tale. I don't quite believe him ( the guy who told me ) though, but, you know, what if it's true?

So, does anybody have some old magazines with articles about R1?

There's this article that I think involved a lazy writer making up all that crap about Rayman being named Jimmy in the world HEREITSCOOL:

I know that, but are there any real articles from magazines?

Interesting question, I would like to see that too, and about other Rayman games.

The only magazines I have, have articles about Rayman Raving Rabbids 1 for Wii (Preview and Review) and a Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc review for Nintendo Gamecube.

According to that TXT file it seems that the game was delayed by 3 months... interesting.

Only mags I've got [albeit, some of them really tatty now] were some about Rayman 2 and Rayman 3, as well as the Raymanzone one.

I also have Raymanzone magazine.

I don't TT_TT

Oh, by the way, I just noticed something in the TXT file...

UBI Soft stated that the Jaguar version will have an additional level that the other versions will not have.

Does anybody remember an extra level in the Jaguar version? o_O

I wonder if that's just the breakout game?

If anything, the PC version ended up getting over 100 exclusive add-on levels, so that's kind of funny.

Ah, so R1 was never intended to be a Jaguar exclusive after all?

No, it was apparently planned for Jaguar, 32X, and Playstation. The 32X port got cancelled, but instead, there were also PC and Saturn versions.

Which I own the PC and the PSX versions.

If we had the music of the PS version, the Angus proboscis-shots from the Jaguar version, the coloured Moskitos from th Jaguar version, the high-quality graphics of the PS version and the exclusive add-ons for the PC version, that would be a game worth playing!

Angus Proboscis?

Angus is a name for the Moskito you fight in Anguish Lagoon and I'm sticking with it. In the Jaguar version, you can get him to shoot blasts out of his proboscis when riding him.
