nullDC fucks up...

Hey all,
I wanted to take screenshots of the Dreamcast version of Rayman 2, which used to work perfectly on my computer, until I switched to Seven and transferred all the files. Now, half the textures are missing, and it looks like there's no more anti-aliasing either:
:boon:
:boon:
Has the same thing happened to anyone? nullDC.cfg files would be welcome, in case there's a problem with my configuration.
Thanks!

Do you want a default one? I can just about manage to run the game in NullDC but eh, saving.

Well here's the default CFG file if this is what you're looking for. If I can find a way to save my own game then I can help take screens too.

Thanks a lot, it worked :D Basically, I don't know how to save either, but I'm simply going to play the game a little bit every day without shutting down my computer.

Haven't you guys asked the developers? Cause you're never getting to the end of the game that way.

Several people on YouTube (such as Saestrol) have been able to save; when I asked him how he'd done it, he told me that he'd never even had any problems with it. It seems to work for some people but just not work for others.

Could you please ask him to send us his nullDC.cfg file? And it may be useful to know what version of the emulator he's using and which operating system he has.
In any case: http://www.emudev.org/forums/index.php?topic=975.0
I count on you guys to bump this regularly

I just asked him.

~And now we wait...

---

~By the way, at the "Press Start" screen of R2 DC, hold down L and R. Then press Start. Then (while still holding L and R), press B four times before the camera stops sinking. Then go to the Options menu. There should be a "Globox Village" option. There are good screenchots to be had...

Is that a cheat? If so, it's a good one!

It is, and it is.

~The Globox Village's intro cutscene seems to show that the Globoxes came into possession of the Four Masks after Polokus was awoken, and that one of the baby Globoxes accidentally dropped the Third Mask into a pool, creating/unearthing the Disk. I was going to add a paragraph about this to the Four Masks article, but I wasn't quite sure how to tackle it...

Saestrol replied. He told me that he wasn't even using nullDC, and that his videos were recorded from a real Dreamcast.

That narrows it down considerably: the problem is with nullDC. We should ask drk||Raziel about this.

I also have the same problem with the emulator: It cannot save... and the memory card resets also don't work.

Guess the best solution is to keep the game running like, all day, It's possible to beat in about four hours anyway

It's true but too bad that my laptop isn't a Gaming one. :tssk:

On the beggining of the game Saestrol says that he bought the game for a bargain, which means he has a Dreamcast.

Damn it.

I just can't play a video game several hours a day, I need to go out. What I tried was not to switch my computer off but after a few days the emulator eventually crashed and I hadn't even made it past the Canopy.

Well, if it's a problem with the emulator itself: http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/dreamcast/
That's four alternative solutions if I'm not mistaken. Let's try them.

Not necessarily; you don't need to download an ISO illegally in order to play a game on an emulator. Recording from an emulator just seemed more likely to me than recording from a Dreamcast, which not many people have, and which would presumably need to be connected to a PC somehow.

Drolpiraat said a while back that the only Dreamcast emulators compatible with R2 are nullDC and Chankast. He also said that R2 crashes Chankast when you select 'New Game'.

There are also other things like DVD and VHS recorders. :hehe:
