I voted the same thing, but now I'm not sure. Needles aren't nice of course, but it all depends as to whether I can stay away from others once people start getting the vaccine. Once the virus is finally gone, it will be nice. It's been ongoing for so long at this stage.

I'm no fan of needles
Neither am I, though I’ve started to use them to pop acne zits myself.

It's a lot worse when you have to get them as anesthetic. I'll never forget that day I had such a bad ingrown toenail that I needed surgery, and the doctor was like "now, I'm just going to give you the anesthetic in 5 places". It was bad enough to hear that, but holy crap those were painful. It was like he was sticking the needle into my toe and bending it around in circles.
Compared to that, a vaccine or blood test is nothing.

Ah yes, the same thing happened to me once. I'd actually forgotten about it!
The funniest thing about that experience was that they prescribed painkillers and I was like, I'm grand, and then halfway towards the next town on the journey home, the feeling started to come back. It was all I could do to wait until we got to the pharmacy in the next town!

That's what it was like in my case, but they made me get collected from there in order to discharge me, so I had to get a taxi. On the drive home, it started feeling like someone hit me in the foot with a hammer.

I have no fear of needles at all, but I must admit that I still remember the day when I ended up in the ER after basically cutting off an entire chunk of flesh off the side of my thumb, which would have fallen off were it not for a tiny patch of skin, and the doctor had to inject the anesthetic right in the wound before stitching it up. Thankfully, I still have a full thumb to this day.
I did get stitched up without an anesthetic once, though it was on my wrist and it didn't hurt much. Still, I was kinda surprised that night.

I don't remember ever needing stitches, but I do remember that toenail started going ingrown again while it was growing back, so while having a few beers one night, I steeped it in antiseptic for ages, then performed the operation myself with a metal nail file and nail clippers. It sounds like it wasn't that bad, except I actually had to dig it far into my nail bed just to dig out the separated section, so it was really painful. It was worth it though, much better than letring it get that bad again and having to get the whole thing nail cut off again.
I even remember the doctor joking that I should just get the toe chopped off since it's causing me so many problems.

I have no idea why my phone even allowed that instead of changing it to letting.

Why would you not let the doctor do the whole thing though?

I'd have been waiting almost a year again, and removing the entire nail didn't even work since it started happening again.

Sounds like an amazing public health system you have here.

Oh yeah it's amazing, just like waiting over a year for an endoscopy, and I'll be waiting over a year again I bet.

Needles don't really bother me anymore either, I used to get them on my buttcheeks every other month and I've had them in my mouth and all that so I'm more than happy to take the covid vaccine when I can. I've been informed as well that all my grandparents got theirs which I'm really glad to hear. Meanwhile I feel like I've been nothing more than a bystander on my fiancé's problems especially now that one of his aunts (in 50s, had multiple disabilities) is in palliative care with corona. Apparently just being there to listen is enough?

I've had them many times for blood tests, and I've had them in my mouth too at the dentists for fillings and extractions. For some reason, the one I had to get in 5 places that day for my ingrown toenail was extremely painful, maybe it's just the place I had to get them in. Normally I'm just used to feeling a pinch when they insert the needle, and again when they remove it, but some people who do blood tests still manage to mess them up and leave you with a bruised sore arm. Sorry to hear about their aunt also, it's unfortunate news...

Thank you. Sadly his relative passed away and while I'd rather not go into more detail it was a peaceful passing, the doctors at the hospital she was in were fantastic, and she's no longer suffering.
On the same sort of line the news this week was...ugh. So Captain Tom, an 100 year old bloke who raised millions for the NHS by walking around in his garden, passed away in the week as well from corona and it's made me wince even more at the idea of getting the public to "clap for him/the NHS". Earlier in the year every Thursday at 8pm a good chunk of the neighbourhood banged on pans and beeped cars as well as clapping, and I just think it all shied away from the fact that the NHS is still struggling to keep up; it had been long before the pandemic began.
