Rayman 3d models ripping

Hey guys!
Good news:
I finally succeeded in ripping models from a rayman game: Rayman M! That's pretty good news, because lots of rayman 2 characters appear in that game. Here is a picture of henchman 800:

Good news: you can help rip them too! It's pretty easy.
You need:
- 3d ripper x newest version (supports direct x

- 3ds max for importing and exporting
- rayman m
you go to rayman m, choose a character, choose a level, press f12 (or you can first play with the fun f11 and f10 buttons) then go to 3ds max, import a file from the my documents\3dreaper\frames folder, and there you go. you can select a character or the world and then click file -> save selected as -> character.max
too bad rayman 2 uses direct x 7 or older, so i couldn't rip from that. but the next version of 3d ripper may contain older directx support, so we could rip also from rayman 2 (including levels :O)
haven't tried rayman 3 yet...

And you said Rayman 2 uses DirectX 7 or older...? Do you mean for ripping or for playing? Because I can still play it on DirectX 11.

Wait dog crappit?

Did they skip over compatibility for 3Ds Max 2008 and 2009? Really? Maybe v9 is compatible with 08, 09....

Another problem! I put in the Rayman Arena disk to install it and nothing happens, I click on the setup, nothing happens I click on ALL the setups, nothing happens.

Lol, look at me conversing with myself.

I'll just download a trial of Max 9 and import into that since I'm assuming newer versions of max can open older versions. I've also tested Rayman 3 in 3D Ripper DX and it was able to do wireframe, disable textures, and successfully capture frames, so I'm just downloading Max 9 now at 2 MBs a second! Startred 5 mins ago and already at 20%.

And good thing I already have a DDS texture plugin for Photoshop.

This can really help in making a remake of a rayman game or a game based on an old story. By the way if you all post your results of model ripping here (in .max or so) we could make a kind of database. I ripped rayman from rayman m now.

Yup I installed Max 9 and I was able to import Rayman perfectly. No messed up geometry. When you imported the models from Rayman M did they just work with the import? Because I don't know how to import the textures if there's an option. All the textures are just grey. Here's 2 pictures. So far I've ripped some scenes from Halo 2 and Rayman 3

Oh wait, there`s no point in re-texturing Rayman I found out that 3Ds Max on Vista or Windows 7 doesn't support the DDS plugin for the textures for some reason, so I'm downloading an Autodesk patch.

That's some awesome work you've done theree

I can 3d model myself, but can't work with 3ds max 9... is your game gonna be 3d? I can help (learning c++ with ogre now0

And yes my game is 3D. In the artwork section (or in my sig) you can take a look at "Rayman 1.5 Revenge of the Dark"
And I'll rip those models from Rayman M.

I'll probably use a lot of them too.

Wow, those 3Dr files a freaking tiny in space consumption.

Okay I've imported them, and at first it's just a big huge sphere. I zoom into that sphere assuming it's the background and I see a whole bunch of rings. I thought "Maybe it didn't capture right". Then I zoomed even closer and I could see a 3D menus board with Teensies standing on a platform beside it.

I was pretty cool. But unfortunately I need the DDS texture folder as well or else everything's grey.
Also what's kind of funny is that Because on Visa and Se7en, there's no DDS texture support for 3Ds Max 9, so I need to import them with Max 9, save them as a .MAX file and open them in Max 8 to view them with textures.

Could anyone rip the model of the blue-green planet from the RM menu background? I think the Glade of Dreams may be situated on it and would like a closer look...

I don't think it's even 3D, as it wasn't captured with the rest.

I can't rip the Rayman Arena stuffs myself directly as for some reason when I put in the disks to install the installer doesn't start up. They don't even start up if I directly open the install package! Arrrg.
