It appears that the PlayStation 3 has finally been hacked. What are your thoughts on this?

The homebrew potential is tremendous, but I can't help but feel sorry for the developers whose games are now going to be piratable.

Oh well. Emulators ftw anyway. :manger:

I think it's good, apart from the pirating bit.

I wonder what systems it will be able to emulate? Could Xbox/Gamecube/Wii emulation be within the realms of possibility?

Wait, what?

The PS3 should be able to emulate some other systems now, but I don't see how that will help you play Halo 3 on your computer. :boon:

Microsoft will probably port it eventually anyway.

Oh, I thought it meant you could now emulate PS# on a computer. HAlo 3 was jsut loosly related to the emulators part. Not really to do with the PS3.

Aww thanks Tobbe :hap:

I wonder if this means that we can play NTSC games and movies on it now as well.

The system has always been region-free, so NTSC PS3 games will work on it already. NTSC PS1/PS2 games and NTSC DVDs/Blu-rays are another matter, though.

Edit: Hah, the hacker looks like Frodo Baggins!

Most people in the UK aren't exactly rich either, I'm in the working class for example. Um you use Chilean pesos right? Cause...uh

40.00 GBP = 33,537.43 CLP

WTF 70,000 CLP is like 80 quid??

That's insane!

I hardly ever buy games, just borrow them or something.

I'm not so sure who in their right mind would pirate PS3 games right now anyway, unless they can download the game right onto the harddrive or copy rental discs. Because blu-ray isn't cheap still to buy. :|

70.000 Pesos : More than 35 dollars,35$ for a game that you gonna complete in some days? no no no,i prefer paying $2 for a less quality game :P

Also my sister goes to a very good school: My dad pays like 180.000 pesos for it :P

Sometimes the pirate games dont work, thats the danger of buying them :pfff:
