Hey guys, since we have quite a lot of musicians here, let's record some music!

First of all, this topic can simply be a collection of all the recordings we have to share. Show off your skills!

I'd record something right now myself but unfortunately it's quite late here right now lol, plus I got the goddamn 3rd string under my middle finger while making a bend a few days ago, so it kinda hurts to play - gonna be OK in a couple of days though.

Alright, let's form a list of musicians. If you play an instrument, sing, or use some kind of software to compose music, sign up right now! You can write a short bio too if you want, actually that'd be great.

Personally I'm a guitar player, been playing for about 4 years now I think, started with the "Smoke on the Water" riff ( ) and the like; back then the solo seemed like something impossible (despite actually being an easy one). Now I'm mainly a pentatonic/blues scale whore lol, but I'm trying to fix that by learning classical music such as Csardas by Monti (really really awesome) or gypsy jazz music (Minor Swing, ohhhh yeah).

I'll gladly participate, just so long as ska and avant-garde is acceptable.
3. Sam - multi-instrumentalist (alto and tenor sax, keys, guitars/basses)

I used to be a real sad character. I'd go to school, play video games until I dropped, wake up and do exactly the same. I noticed the music in video games more than anything, and started to pick up my dad's guitars to try and play the pieces I liked. I liked jazz a lot, but after finding a band named Mr. Bungle on the internet because of a video game medley they did, I found a bigger interest in experimental music, which opened up my mind to a lot of "straight" genres as well (such as ska, some pop, electronic and rock). I tend to play a lot of Prince Buster, Frank Zappa, Mr. Bungle and Scott Joplin at the moment. I do have one recording, but the quality's rather bad, and the playing's poor too (I used a cheap portable recorder, and I was fooling around with my friends on an old acoustic piano that we found in a skip - there was something sticky on some of the keys, I dare not imagine all the possible things it might have been):

Planning to buy a bass, and to have piano lessons. I bought an audio recorder (Zoom H4n) too. I've also made some compositions on Guitar Pro 4, I'll record them.

Ok, I have a link to a pretty much exact recreation of Pink Floyd's 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' with mostly improvised solos (although the first keyboard solo isn't improvised, most bass, keyboard and guitar is), however it's unfinished and the first guitar solo needs to be redone. here

One of us could always try and compose an experimental piece at some point. There's no harm in trying it out, is there?

Hey guys, do you know a good and simple program for purposes like recording rhythm and solo and then mixing them into one track? I heard Cubase is good but that doesn't seem simple at all, and it's huge.

Not if you'er using MIDI, although, I record the tracks on a portable recorder using an export the masters onto the computer and onto Audacity so that I can put all the recordings together (it's only a 4 track, so you've got to make more than one song for more complicated pieces). Audacity's alright for synchronising recordings, but not actually for recording on.

As for the Marshall, it's a transistor amp. That one.
