UPDATE: As of 13/12/2012, the reward system for the Hall of Fame is now automated. No need to contact anyone, just submit your score in the Hall of Fame and you will get 1 Ting every 100 points you score in the game. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. ~Hunch

Hey everyone! Pirate Community is about to launch a new reward system that grants users extra Tings for using the Hall of Fame (accessible direct from the Portal). The rewards range from 100 to 20,000 Tings, but be sure that anyone who uses this scheme will be receiving a sum of Tings. In general terms, the higher the score, the more Tings you're entitled to.

The main reason for this project concerns the dormancy of the HOF at present. RaymanPC has 1339 members yet less than a tenth of these members are currently registered to the scoreboard, so this scheme will hopefully better populate it It also aims to increase scoring motivation, as the R3 thread is a little puffed out at the moment.

The rewards are as follows:

0 - 99,999 points - 100 Tings

100,000 - 199,999 points - 200 Tings

200,000 - 299,999 points - 500 Tings

300,000 - 399,999 points - 1000 Tings

400,000 - 499,999 points - 1500 Tings

500,000 - 599,999 points - 2500 Tings

600,000 - 699,999 points - 5000 Tings

700,000 - 799,999 points - 10,000 Tings

800,000+ points - 20,000 Tings

So, want to participate? Simply enter your score to the HOF (the code viewable from the 'Lums Race' screen on the R3 level-select interface) and send me a private message confirming you have done this, or mention so in the R3 scores thread in the R3 forum. If you have already entered your score and aim to improve it, give me details of the improvements you have made and I will issue the extra Tings in accordance to the calibre of the improvement.

Please note that those whose scores are already registered to the HOF will have already received their Tings. I have these members listed on a Word document to ensure extra Tings aren't issued.

NB: This is of course a sticky thread at the moment but it may demote itself to a normal topic depending on the its success. I aim to have 15-20 more entered scores though...

So does it means that members who already uploaded the score before this topic will get Tings? Or do I need to improve first?

I think this is a good way to bring more scores into the Hall of Fame. If my memory isn't failing, on RaymanZone we also recieved Lums to "purchase" Goodies in the website.

I will replay Rayman 3 on my gamecube, and try to get better scores.

At least when you play you can get 100 tings , i will need to finish my current rayman 3 game

Shit, it's making me start a new game *sigh* oh well.
Shouldn't be too hard to catch up with my score.

I think it's a great idea, it'll probably motivitate quite an amount of people to replay and better their scores
I also can't deny the fact I like it because I have 800,000+ points
I have a suggestion though: In my opinion, there should be more steps between the ranks.
It's a huge jump from 700,000 to 799,999 points, and I agree that the reward is right for that, but it could be divided in two parts for example:
700,000 - 749,999 = 7500 tings
750,000 - 799,999 = 10,000 tings

And I think there should be a step over 800k. Sure, it's a hard challenge to accomplish, but 850,000 is an even harder task, so I'd suggest adding tings for crossing this mark as well. I'm aware of the fact only the fewest will ever manage that, but I think it's worthy to add like 30,000 tings).
The ones which already got past 800k have no motivation anymore to scorer higher, at least regarding to the tings.

Actually, we're thinking of an automated system with a rate of 1 Ting every 200 points. This should fix the problem of the gap between the different thresholds.

Can it be a five-ting gap instead of one, because I (and probably others) hate having tings that aren't multiples of five lol

Well, we're currently discussing ways to make this system easier and more effective, but as it stands the current one is valid until further notice

This came just after I decided to go for a high score, good timing

My score is: 361,383 points.

That should lead up to 1000 tings. I'll try improving my score, remember I had to start a new game.
