Re: Rayman 1 for PC: Were there 2 versions? 20/25 vs. 51 tracks?

I managed to get a download of the
Rayman Par Ses Fans DOS files (from the
Forever CD), but I can't get it to play music (from my
Gold CD/image). The startup messages say "Only sound effects, no CD audio" and the menu option can't be moved from Music: Off. Does anyone have a clue why this might be? I'm assuming it won't be an issue when I buy
Collector.
Why must such a great soundtrack be so awkward?

It only accepts the Forever CD, seeing as it came from one, of course.

Yes, that was my suspicion initially (once again). But the original game files will play the music from my CD (image) of Gold, and vice versa. Perhaps more crucially, I've since tried mounting an NRG (mixed-mode, with audio, of course) of Forever (which admittedly has unfortunately been edited to add DOSBox patches and some other crap), and running that in combination with both the previous RAR of files and the same directory (RayFan) installed using Windows (necessary to run the installer)--and neither of the resulting installations offer any music.
Again, I'm hoping to buy Collector soon, so this may be a moot point, but it's still curious. :S

RPlus would solve this problem.

It would indeed.
Incidentally, my initial reply to this topic was wrong. There is no 51-track version. There was a rumour started by some pranksters, including certain high-profile members from here, that there was, which led to confusion like this.
