Vancouver gang rape

Well this is some truly sad news....
If you live in BC in Canada, you've probably heard about this.
I've recently said on an occasion that a friend of mine, (she's 16) was heavily abused, leaving her in the hospital. I thought this was absolutely terrible, and it was. I'd never seen something so vile happen to a person I knew before. Emotional breakdowns were obviously involved. But that's not where it stops. No....
Yesterday, the offenders uploaded a
video of her being raped to Facebook, and somehow it bypassed security. I can't believe it.

This got the polices attention, and they've now arrested the seven,
SEVEN attackers. I didn't know it was
SEVEN for Christ's sake!

Poor, poor her (I'm not allowed to disclose her name). She even had to go to the emergency hospital room after.
Oh but the video was terrible, it involved lots and lots of pain, screaming, and a complete overhaul of the English language in terms if vulgarity. The
WORST thing I have ever seen.

Why do people do this... why....
And of course it was quickly spread around the web, 50,000 people downloading it per day because they'll find it exciting to watch my friend get raped to the point where she becomes a motionless, sprawled, helpless, damaged, tainted figure, and then show it to their friends and laugh at it.
You imagine seven guys going up to you, grabbing you, all flinging you against the concrete, destroying you, and getting at you by whatever means necessary, and running away will only result in getting grabbed by the hair and slammed against the floor with blood scrapes running down your back. And there being nothing... NOTHING you can do to get out of it. Those precious seconds you have looking away are covered up in a split second.

... Wow. That's terrible. I don't know what to say. I hope they were sentenced heavily? And were they all caught?

Yeah they were caught, most of them I think. Luckily, to the criminal's loss, uploading the video gave the police direct access to them.
More news today... they ARE being charged very heavily, I'll probably find out more by the end of the day.
Also don't be surprised if I talk a little pissed off for the next little bit on the web....

I'm so sorry to hear this RayFan... it's truly horrendous. The fact that they recorded the scene and uploaded the video to Youtube makes this crime even worse and just adds insult to injury. Let us know of any developments

This sounds all too similar to the "happy slapping" craze a load of teens over had a few years ago where they'd record themselves beating someone up and putting it somewhere on the net. I really do hope the cunts get fucking life for this!

I actually remember that. It was pretty popular news when I was in grade 7.

RayFan9876 already knows my opinion about this subject on dA.
Anyway, I would applaud every country that had a punishment that is allowed by law in Poland which is chopping the sexual organs to sexual abusors.

That would be most of the Middle-east then.

Um I don't think they "chop" anything, and use chemical castration instead, no?

Yes, chemical castration. I wanted to mean that. But the will that a person has is to chop away.

And they really should have this in America and Canada. But like I asked on DA, what do they do to the female abusers? It's not common, but it does happen.
Also, my friend, she wanted to be an artist/actor. She was by far the best in her drama class. Earlier, she got asked to be in a movie, but she was too young to say yes. I just hope with everything that this isn't shading her confidence, because the amount she's changed is appalling. She used to be bright and lively and a little bit strange, kind of like me. Now she's all tightened up, gets mad easily at people that she doesn't know well, and looks scared at her friends, and she backs out of any group project.
And the offenders are now in jail, where I hope they will get completely and utterly pwned.

When i heard about this on the news i was horrfied.

Why do people do such monstorus things to others and making a video and posting it online? Im glad they caught those guys and i hope they teach them a lesson in jail. Best wishes to your friend Rayfan.

That's true. You rarely ever hear a plot that ends completely badly.
@SuperSunshine:
Just curious, where do you live? I didn't know it spread outside this province.
And another thing, yesterday, this topic came up in Religion class (in my school there's a required religion class). I was hoping that before the class, it wouldn't come up, but it did (we're currently studying moralities). So it came up and I mentioned that I knew her, and much to the unsurprising, it was a mistake. Everyone decides to ask me what her name was and what he video was like, and everyone was completely oblivious to the fact that IT WAS OFFENSIVE. :/ Luckily, the teacher gave the whole class a detention for two hours except me. Again, luckily today I'm home sick, probably from emotional stress and the fact that I caught a cold. I didn't want to see people's reactions.
A lot of people are so shallow and immature. I can't wait til I graduate; life will make so much more sense from my point of view.

I remember reading something about this on SA, because someone posted a thread in GBS. It's much worse when it happens to someone you actually know.

Wow, I didn't know the news of this was so widespread. I just hope to God that the video didn't spread far.
