Consequences of boredom.
I've been wondering if the RPC members still have/use old equipments like outdated-game consoles, mobile phones in B&W with AA batteries, VHS readers, computers 486, etc.
I had a CD Walkman, that worked great until perhaps 5 years ago the laser dying. It was time to replace it for a MP3 reader.
I had a VHS reader that got broken with the time, but 3 years ago I bought a new one just to be able to rewatch hundreds of video tapes I have with movies and series.

(I do must consider in ripping into digital files...)
What about you?

Depends how old you mean, I think the oldest thing I currently own is my GBA SP.

TWO VHS recorders.

And a TV from the 90's. If analogue boxes o' doom actually count as Old Tech.

Does kitchen stuff count as well? Cause we also have a bunch of appliances from like the 80's and they're still going, like a cake mixer and a can opener.

Stacey, congrats for your Globox rank!
Yes, that compts. My mother has got a electric cake mixer that works perfectly yet. Our microwave has got around my age and it still works great.
My father still owns a workable analogic photographic camera, older than me.

We still have 2 of those, from the missing GRUNDIG brand.
I haven't a Playstation 1 but I have a Game Boy Color, bought in second hand but it works.

I also still have my GBC (maybe two of them, I don't know if my brother still has his own).

Not much old stuff here, only the VHS player that we don't use anymore comes to mind

A picture please? If it is the ones with a wheel to put the finger, I'll laugh.

I don't care what anyone says. That stuff lasts forever.

I still use an old-fashioned stove kettle too.
Well, it's odd I should come across this topic, because I went to the thrift shop today to find a wired mouse for my old desktop (since I don't use it all that much, and I don't want to constantly throw batteries at it). It's surprisingly tough to find something that
isn't wireless these days. But anyway, I came across a wired Logitech mouse for $5. Awesome.

Wired mouses aren't that rare. I still see a considerable ammount of them in stores, massively optical mouses. But I prefer the laser wired mouses, those are the best for gaming.

Can't bother right now, maybe later.

OK.
Another thing that I remember now, my father also owns a ZX Spectrum, but it is missing its cables.

Huh, weird because I've been everywhere around here and couldn't find one. Wal-Mart, Staples, Office Max, PC Club... bleh
And I guess it's worthy mentioning my VHS player that's as old as I am.

Those usually haven't.
Try to find in especialized stores, or online stores.
If I could get a new mouse for me, I would get a Razer brand one, wired with laser.

Well, I also didn't want to spend too much anywhere, because this is a computer I rarely use. lol
