Re: Cartoon Shows
He wasn't a lead character though, he only appeared occasionally.
As for the new cartoon, I am pretty excited for it, though I do wonder who'll be voicing Scrooge, given how his original VA passed away just over a month ago.

Re: Cartoon Shows
Yeah I remember him only appearing on certain episodes, I'm very hyped for this cartoon.

Hopefully they got an understudy like Pooh and Tigger, but even then that voice might be hard to mimic...Master wrote:He wasn't a lead character though, he only appeared occasionally.

Re: Cartoon Shows
Hmm, I already knew Regular Show was ending, but it seems Gumball is also ending. It's a bit odd, since alongside Adventure Time, they're the shows which got me into Modern Cartoon Network. Seeing those coming to an end feels almost like the end of an era, CN does still have some good shows, I enjoy We Bare Bears and some of Steven Universe, but at the same time, they've got TTG and PPG. Might be an overreaction, but I do hope that CN doesn't fall into the trap of making solely comedy oriented shows.
EDIT: Ok, it's a bit vague, he mentioned an upcoming final season, but then stated that it was simply him leaving the show. So...eh?

Re: Cartoon Shows
Okay, so, about the upcoming DuckTales…
They don't have original cast, sure. BUT…
They. Have.
…
David Tennant.
…
DAVID TENNANT AS SCROOGE MCDUCK. *_*
HYPED.
On another note, I've discovered Bob's Burger. And it's really, really cool. There's a bit of Adult Swim cliche in the first season, but it quickly find its own style. The characters are fantastic, and the writing pretty clever while being hilarious most of the time! A very nice surprise.

DAMMIT, you beat me to the punch.
Yeah, I saw David Tennant, and rushed here. Nice rendition of the theme, and Dave's a natural Scot, so hopefully he'll fit Scooge.

Gah, beat me to it..
I'm very hyped about this show because it's going to also have various other characters like fethry duck and most importantly Duck Avenger/PK is going to make a cameo

Re: Cartoon Shows
When I first heard this I couldn't quite wrap my head around David Tennant being Alan Young's successor as Scrooge cause I was expecting an American regular at Disney to do it, but I'm pretty damn excited to see the new cartoon now. I'd like to think he'd have some vocal training to get the voice down but we'll see.

Re: Cartoon Shows
My favourite cartoons as a kid were looney tunes and merrie melodies I watched it on VHS and my fav episode was rabbit fire because it had rabbit season duck season and Elmer season that was my favourite part of the episode. I was about 5 when I watched it! Here is the link to watch it: http://kisscartoon.me/Cartoon/The-Bugs- ... e?id=29993 and here is a preview of the Elmer season part!
I also did watch a bit of Spongebob Squarepants when I was 9 and I watched the first episode of it, it was the very first episode I ever watched. And here is the link of the full episode of it below: http://kisscartoon.me/Cartoon/SpongeBob ... -Season-01 or if you want to watch it now but recorded with camera
EDIT: I was born in the 90's.

Re: Cartoon Shows
Well, I knew it was coming...but it's now happened. The first of the CN Revival era cartoons; Regular Show, has concluded. In fairness, it was showing its age, I think the whole love triangle thing was getting way out of hand. But this final season was really good, and I'm glad to see that Regular Show not only ended on its own terms, but ended on a high and concluding note. (Yup, Still bitter over Wander over Yonder).
So, that now leaves Adventure Time, Gumball, Steven Universe, We Bare Bears and the new Justice League cartoon as the shows from CN that I follow. The former two are also confirmed to be ending (though there may be some wiggle room with Gumball), SU I like, but I don't tend to watch it if it's not focused on the main story arc. We Bare Bears isn't really on enough, and JLA is a very good show, but it's from a genre that's pretty well done.
CN still makes some good shows, and I won't lose interest in them for some time to come. But I do wonder if they'll come up with something that really took folks' interest as Adventure Time and Regular Show did.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Regular show! I hardly never got to watch that show, the show was so good. All these show are ending because of f****** teen titans go! It should be teen titans NO!Master wrote:Well, I knew it was coming...but it's now happened. The first of the CN Revival era cartoons; Regular Show, has concluded. Re: Cartoon Shows
Calm down. As sad as it is that Regular Show has ended, it ended at the right time. Regular Show was starting to show its age, and I think it's better for a show to end on a high note, rather than be dragged on and have its once good name sullied. I agree that TTG gets way too much love to the point where it feels like CN's Spongebob, but it can't be blamed for Regular Show's end.

Re: Cartoon Shows
Any info on a season 3? I thought it was supposed to come out before 2017, I can't wait!
I've been watching Ren and Stimpy for whatever reason, nostalgia I suppose. It's both weirder and funnier than I remember

Re: Cartoon Shows
It was not the right time for it to end! It should have ended in 2019, because I only started getting interested in it last year, and then after I discovered it was ending in 2017, I was like WTF. I hardly never got to watch it in 2010.Master wrote:Calm down. As sad as it is that Regular Show has ended, it ended at the right time. Re: Cartoon Shows
Regular Show has had 8 seasons, and ran around 6-7 years. That's around the same amount of time that shows like the original Powerpuff Girls, Dexter Labratory and Johnny Bravo had, and significantly more episodes (261 to 136, 221 and 178). Shows can and do end up burning out, that's why we end up with things like Jumping the shark and Seasonal Rot.
Consider shows that are long running, like Spongebob. Spongebob still runs to this day, despite having an extreme loss of quality in recent years. Spongebob was liked by many, including myself. But modern Spongebob it feels is sometimes downright despised. The Simpsons is another popular example. It's always sad to see something you enjoy come to an end, but better a dignified end than to be dragged through the mud and milked to expiration.
As for blaming TTG, I will admit that it does feel that CN treats it as their own Spongebob in some regards. Love it or hate it, it gets them the ratings. But, consider the fact that despite their love for TTG, CN still allow for shows like Steven Universe and We Bare Bears, shows which haven't been cancelled, and are now on their second (with a third confirmed) and fourth (with a fifth confirmed) seasons respectively. Compare this to the likes of Disney (cancelled WoY after its 2nd Season, despite a clear desire to have a 3rd), or Nickelodeon (messed about with The Legend of Korra, cancelled Harvey Beaks and seemingly mistreated its creator).
I won't deny that CN aren't completely fair with shows (Young Justice, Beware the Batman and their current trajectory), but in this case, I don't think it's fair to start playing the blame game. Regular Show has had a long, and good run. A run with up and some downs (that whole love triangle), but ultimately, a nice conclusion that hit in the feels, and gave one final reminder as to why we enjoyed the show to begin with.

Re: Cartoon Shows
It amazes me how The Simpsons have managed to have 28 seasons and counting, and have yet to be cancelled. It surely is rare to have such of a show that has been constantly making episodes since 1989. I've analyzed the show for about a year, and I have come to the conclusion that seasons 1-10 were The Simpsons prime, and after, not the same. The quality of the episodes just continued to go downhill after the 10th season, in terms of increasing sexual jokes, and more, if not constant use of violence and blood. The jokes that were deemed to be funny, just comes off boring, unoriginal, and just plain sexual. There are some very good episodes during the 11-15 seasons, but after that (starting in 2004), it got more and more difficult to watch and enjoy. I don't watch any Simpson episodes after 2004 anymore, and don't even try to watch the new ones. I recently did watch a couple from the 28th season, and it was a 2/10 rating in my book.

The Falcon and the D'ohman? What you need is some of "Homer Badman."
