On the whole "Dell" thing... since the same hardware is pretty much used in all modern computers, no matter the brand, I think discriminating based on brand is stupid, unless for a practical reason like the quality of technical support or notoriously poor design (neither of which are generally found in moderately-priced Dell machines).

Meh, I'll always have a little grudge against Dell for using stupidly proprietary ATX power pinouts in the early days so that people who attempted to upgrade their power supply or motherboard instead set their computer on fire. (Thankfully this was before my time, so I never personally experienced this, but it was a rotten trade practice.)

Well I guess I dont have a HUGE grievance with apple or OSX but I wasted a lot of money on a computer I believed the hype into buying only to find out I could got the same thing for much less considering what I do on it, and OSX is running off the Linux kernel that being said I dont see much of a difference between OSX and Linux (I like Linux) but if i wont to use Linux ill use Linux not OSX. Why do you like it by the way

OSX doesn’t use a Linux kernel. It uses the Mach kernel.

And I like it because I’m an Apple fan.

Why? Because their products are expensive?

Hmm, my knowledge of kernels is sorely lacking, but I'm pretty sure I've read in the past that OSX is Unix based, as is Linux.

I once was interested in getting a MacBook after I read that one model had an i7 processor with turbo boost up to 3,60GHz, but the price was overly expensive for 2200€. Some weeks later I discovered mySN with their XMG notebooks and bought myself a notebook with i7 turbo boost up to 3,80GHz for like 1000€ cheaper. I care less for software, I just need a very powerful notebook as in FSX is very performance hungry.

You seem to be right:
Wikipedia wrote:OS X is a series of Unix-based graphical interface operating systems developed and marketed by Apple Inc.

In the near future I shall be upgrading my main computer from an Intel Core i7 2600k to an i7 4770k processor, and a Gigabyte Z87 based motherboard. :o

Will be keeping my 32GB of 2133MHz set of RAM from my current configuration of course. Then going from an NVIDIA GTX580 to a GTX 780 Ti, is what's in mind.

(GNU/)Linux is not Unix-based. GNU is Not Unix
Also I was shocked by the idea that anything production-level could use the Mach kernel, but Fifo seems to be right:
Wikipedia wrote:Darwin is built around XNU, a hybrid kernel that combines the Mach 3 microkernel, various elements of BSD (including the process model, network stack, and virtual file system),[8] and an object-oriented device driver API called I/O Kit.
EDIT: And also, based on what I've quoted above, Darwin isn't Unix either. But XNU ≠ Linux.

Also, apropos of nothing, I'd like to say, as I said on the French forum this afternoon, that I would like to make a bonfire of all the Secure Boot computers I can find!
