Rayman Merch... Knock-offs?

'Sup everybody. I hope this sort of thread would be allowed, because it's Rayman related, right?

I'm a 'budding' Rayman collector. I go on eBay regularly to check for any little rarities I could potentially get. Now, I've been searching on eBay International for about 1-3 months and I've seen some Rayman Raving Rabbids items that look a bit..Iffy.
More spesifically...Here's some examples:

Image Image

Both of these have a Rayman Raving Rabbids tag, but it looks like that's all they really have..No descriptions, nothing. And they don't really LOOK like proper Rabbids. Last time I checked, their skin(?) isn't that shade of pink, and their mouths aren't red. To name the most easy-to-see problems.

Are they fake? And does anybody know about any other spesific fake merchandice sitting out there?

I see those all the time looking for Rabbids stuff myself, and I haven't a single clue. Mind even official plushes of any kind can look like crap but you never know until you actually buy them.

One thing's for sure anything Rabbid labelled as "porcelain" is bound to be bootlegged, the real ones of those very first Rabbids figures [the ones you got when you preorded RRR1 from GAME] are rare as hell.

I've never seen those dolls before, I cannot also guarantee they are real.

That's very true. Perhaps one day, I may purchase them to take a further look into them.

Woah, you answered a question I'd forgotten to post. Thank you for that information; I've been looking around eBay and I've seen loads of Rabbids figures out there that look EXACTLY like the originals! And those are often labeled as porcelain. Looks like I'll have to wait another few centuries to get more rare figures.

On a side note, what first Rabbid figures were you talking about? Have you got images of them? I've never heard of them, I think.

The ones you got from GAME were a set of about 5 and they had stuff like eggs on their face and carried feather dusters and stuff. Raygirl has them here in her collection. They're the ones that are often bootlegged, and I could tell really because once I tried bidding on a real one but lost :( This set came before the first UBIArt ones that you could buy yourself from GAME.

Ah, I've seen those on eBay. I tried bidding on what seemed to be an authentic figure but I lost too.

Thanks for all your help. :D Hopefully we'll be seeing more authentic Rabbid figures out there..I recently saw a few of the Rabbids Invade Sports figures go on sale from somebody in Portugal. So, I guess there's a ray of hope.

Oh right, those were the very first. Equal to the ones from the videos of "Scientific facts".

From Portugal? Odd, because I still didn't catch up a store with the 2nd collection. Only the first one, and it is in my uncle's village. :mefiant: For some reason the 1st collection I never catched up in my region.

I thought it was odd, too. I thought the collection was only sold in Spain... They're extremely rare and I've lost all the bids for the full sets. :|

I've never seen any Rabbids merchandice sold near where I live.

In here they are also sold, but they seem quite rare to find. If I only found 1 place that was selling the first collection and it wasn't in my living region, then you have already an idea.

Very slim chance because most Rayman T-shirts were promotional.

Nice way ! Do you use a special software then? Anyway, I never found Rayman tee-shirt on internet.

Oh hi Eshap, nice to see you here.

If you think they look like knock-offs, you should see some of the other ones. These are the best I've seen aside from that tall Leptis statue with Rayman hanging off it you could win in a Rayman 3 contest.

I've only ever seen 3 Rayman shirts go for sale on eBay International (all from the USA), 1 which even had the Rayman Yo-Yo, but at the time I was new to eBay Int. and I didn't get it in time. :( It's never been relisted to my knowing.
It's not incredibly special imo. The only ones I've seen are in XL size anyway, so I could never wear it :P Still, a nice collectable.

Hello RayFan. :D Likewise with you.

Are you saying there are knockoffs of that figure too? Or have I misunderstood? I actually saw one go for about £400/500 (can't remember) + £70 shipping, but the little bits that hang off of Rayman's hoodie (not sure what they're called) were missing...
