Rayman and Elfy Food...

...coexist in the same universe.

For those who don't know what Elfy Food is...

This should answer any questions.

Okay, some back basis on the theory:

First off, the food gives them special powers, no? And it seems to be the only way they can get these powers; When Mr. Furter destroyed the "elfy" food crops, they were rendered useless. My personal take on this is during the Robo-Pirate invasion, they were taking every lum and power source they could find, so the fairies somehow merged the lums into the food or something, to hide them, and to have some power to fall back on. This would explain why Ly was somehow strong enough to give Rayman the power to cling to purple lums, even after being kidnapped and starved and whatnot.

Another reason for the idea is the elves themselves. Let's start with Byppin.

Blue skin, the markings on his arms and face (at least I think they're on his face) and the weird ginger haircut. If those similarities weren't enough, his superpower is strength. All this can't be a coincidence. Byppin is the child (presumably the only child) of LacMac and Betina and his superpower is inherited; although, it's implied that none of the other elves' powers are. Byppin is special.

Although why the two of them would send their only son to Potato Academy where they learn to fight with carrots I really don't know. o_O*

Then Esra. Now, the elves I assume are in their mid to late teens (I put Amy at around 13, and Byppin at about 16-17, and the others are somewhere between them) and they seem all around the same age. However, Esra is about two to three feet shorter than the others. Not only that, but his wings are more visible.

Short explanation; Esra in in fact a Ludiv. Yes you can get boy Ludivs and Esra is one of them.

I'm also assuming the elves are a sort of sub genus of fairy (excluding Esra the Ludiv and Byppin the half fairy half whatever-LacMac-is-type-thing), which would explain the markings on the others as well. This also backs up the LacMac+Betina=Byppin thing: Byppin's markings are different. They're rounder, for one thing. Amy's are round as well admittedly but they're just a patch on her elbow and over her left eye; They're not the same sort of pattern and seem more fairy like.

Now, you're probably wondering; If it takes place in the Rayman universe why isn't Rayman sorting Frank Furter out? Well, I have two or three explanations for this:

1. Assumably this is set about 20 years after Rayman 2, 3, whatever, so Rayman retired/died. (yes I did edit this)

2. It's across the other side of the planet; again, Rayman doesn't know it's happening.

3. Rayman's on vacation. :P I kid, I kid.

There was more but I can't remember it. All I know is, there was definitely a closet Rayman fan in the production team somewhere. xD

*EDIT: I've figured it out. It said at the beginning that "Elfland is in great danger" by this Frank Furter guy. Now, it didn't say he was kidnapping anyone, but it didn't say he wasn't. Knowing LacMac and Betina and the sort of childhood they had, obviously they wouldn't want their son to have to go through the whole kidnapping thing, so I magine they put him in Potato Academy to keep him safe. And yes, I am fully aware that that sounds like the plot of some badly written magical orphan anime.

In other words, Cartoon Network ripped Rayman off. Did this program even air? Cause whenever I tried to find it any news of it dates to like 2005...

:boon:

I think only that means that the show wasn't anything of the other world.

It is an expression used here that means "It shouldn't be anything extraordinary".

Ah. Right. I see.

The Rayman similarities are quite funny though.

Funny how this had gone over my head, and I usually kept a good eye out on animated shows

Bleh, when it first aired I was the only one out of everyone I knew that had actually watched it. I got the impression that i was the only one who knew of its' existence.

It has it's similarities, but I don't think it's close enough to be called a rip-off. It does remind me of Rayman, but not enough to think they were inspired by him.

I do like the British accents however.

I find it funny how whenever I decide to lurk the Rayman forum my name gets mentioned. :mefiant:

Anyway I must see this thing to determine whether you fail or not.

EDIT: That's not Scottish, it's more Australian.

Eh, British is technically correct as well since Australian is a branch off of British. :)
