Rayman 3 Cinematic issues?

I have the weirdest problems with Rayman 3 and it's cinematics on my gaming laptop. I never seem to see it working when I make it run at 1920 x 1080 resolution on my screen, but when I run my 24" Sony CRT at 1920 x 1200, cinematics work just fine.. (I never tested at non-widescreen resolutions as of yet still. lol )
I'm sort of guessing the screen ratio compatibility is the issue with the cinematics? Comparing letterbox to both 16:9 and 16:10 widescreen?
